So things have been going a mile a minute lately and I love it…
After almost a year of house hunting, 2 houses, and 5 offers… the third time was the charm for me, I found my house.. put in an offer and the contract was accepted by the seller! I have inspection this Thursday afternoon, so as long as nothing goes horribly wrong there, I will be closing Sept 11, I know the date is a bit weird, BUT it’s a half day Friday for me and a time me and the seller were able to agree on. I will move reverently. The house is perfect… just what I have been looking for: 3 bed, 2 bath, 1700sf, cute red brick house. There are a few things I plan to do to it, but it is move in ready, these are just preference things… painting, updated stainless steel appliances, wood floors, 2” blinds, new fixtures and ceiling fans… some of these will be done immediately, and others I will change over time as I am financially able to.
I cant believe I am buying a house at 25, I mean I didn’t even get a car til 23… guess I am making up for lost time… and tired of $1,000/mo rent for a 700sf apartment! Belle will have a nice backyard to play in and I will have a beautiful huge kitchen with an island and get my nice bathroom and walk in closet… everyones happy!
I have been on a few dates… some went really well, others not so much… one went really well a week and a half ago… and we are going out again tomorrow.. he works for Chevron on the financial side of things… he is tall, REALLY cute, and funny… he went to Penn State, and was actually on there football team… I am really excited about tomorrow night… should be fun.. and maybe he can take the true test tomorrow… meeting Belle!! We have been talking almost every day… so who knows? It’s the first time in a while I have been truly giddy about a guy…
On the work side… I have been swamped, but I love it! I love my job and I am having a blast and kicking butt if I do say so myself… in September I am getting transferred to our Fayetteville Shale group, an area I haven’t worked yet.. and a rock I haven’t worked with yet, I have done sandstone and limestone, time to take on shale!! I will be personally completing somewhere around 80 wells in the next year… which will mean I will be even busier, but I will be gaining experience that it takes most new engineers 5-6 years to get… all in one crazy year… I have also heard switching to this group includes a raise and I am kind of banking on it… my budget with the new house and all payments only gives me $9 to play with after everything is said and done!!!
