the recruiter i talked to from Exxon Mobil at the last AADE meeting called me today, after talking a while he gave me his email and told me to email him next fall before career day and that way if he wasnt going he could tell whoever was going to expect me... and that he was pretty sure they have something for me next summer.... me working for

How do you feel about working for Exxon?

Considering it's a company that has done more harm to Americans recently than nearly any other we can name that doesn't sell arms to Al-Qaeda, are you able to just shove that aside and think of the experience you'll be getting? Or are you hoping to reform it in some tiny way from inside? Or am I just some crank out there who still remembers the Valdez, Lee Raymond's retirement package and $3 gas? What say you?

there are plenty of companies that cause harm to america... tobacco companies, alcohol companies, the list could go on and on... its not just oil companies... although they are under the spolight for it a lot...

and i am obviously very excited about potentially working for them, i am in petroleum engineering... its what im gonna do, and they are one of the biggest companies in the buisness... who wouldnt be excited about a job at the top company in their field??

dont get me wrong im not anti-america or anything.. i guess i just see the good in the company and not the bad.. and there is bad in everything... theres nothing we can do about that...

you are welcome to your opinion, but thats just how i feel....lets just say im agreeing to disagree with you :)

I don't necessarily disagree with you. The companies you've named do indeed do good things, which cannot be ignored. I'm very educated by what you've said here and I thank you.
