I posted a thread on WC about this
http://boards.weddingchannel.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=4069361#post4069361 I don't know the correct terminology for any of this, so bare wih me. At 38 weeks I was told I had uterine growth restriction (with Matthew, of course). I had been measuring the same size for 5 weeks. At 39 weeks, when I measured the same again they requested a u/s. They thought he was a good size (they estimated him at 6.6), but said that his stomach was starting to shrink to compensate for his head and leg growth. They recommended induction to "get him out so he could grow properly." Of course, not knowing anything I quickly agreed and two days later Matthew was born, weighing 6.9. The ped did not think his stomach was a problem (something my OB was shocked about, since she had trusted the tech's/doctor's reading of the u/s).
Now I am wondering if uterine growth restriction/retardation is something that has to do with the mom "not having enough room" and therefore a problem to watch in the future. Or is it a one time deal. I am very interested to hear other's experiences with this.
