i've learned some very important things this week. well, technically just wednesday. (in no particular order...)
-always buy your concert ticket before hand, it lowers the stress level of if it's "sold out"
-park where it'll be easy to get out
-they'll pat you down before you can enter, be ready
-know what other bands will be playing
-always wear tennis shoes
-if wearing jeans, make sure that they arent too long....
--or else the bottoms of them get torn
-dont wear a jacket into the mosh area...you'll be hot as hell
-put the hair up SECURELY before hand
--otherwise it gets pulled and super nasty
-have only the necessities with you: ticket, chapstick
--that way you dont have to hold onto anything
-if it will be cold, bring gloves for non-moshers
-bring spare water (leave in car), and a jacket for later
-make sure you put on extra deodorant
-have extra money in the car for food afterwards
-go with people who will protect you from the crazy people (thx boys!)
-stay away from the circles where everyone runs into the edges
--and dont get caught in between two of them, or in them for that matter
-always stay alert for people crowd-surfing
-be prepared to be pushed, shoved, kicked, hit, fallen on-top of, and you may even fall over
-if someone is on the ground, get them up QUICKLY
-always have a meeting spot (or way of communication) if you get separated
-ask for the cap when they give you a water bottle
-go with people who want to be in the same part of the crowd as you
--and with people you can have fun with, sing with, and mosh with
-if the crowd is pushed forward, brace yourself for the retaliation sway, which will be much greater
-move your feet quickly when the crowd is being pushed in opposite directions, or else you'll end up on one leg swaying, or fall
-the kids will crowd surf on the best songs, so try to pay attention to the song while not getting trampled
-sing along to the songs you know--and enjoy the ones you dont
-most importantly, make it a memorable time...
