He caught that one and a half syllable slip of a name fall from the doctor's lips. The "Silver Haired SOLDIER" was confined in this lab as well? What a fine turn of events this was. The last Fuhito had heard of that name was...

Wait one minute... wasn't he dead? Either way, Fuhito played it off with a sardonic grin, "ShinRa knows how to prioritize, don't they?"

He picked up the little device, and examined it; Fuhito had heard of Gast before. Gast's research had sparked Fuhito's own interest in Cetran systems. He began to wonder what ever became of that young one AVALANCHE had tried to obtain in an operation. The young man set the device down, "Now I have a little more confidence in this."

He chuckled, "AVALANCHE was an organization designed to create chaos for ShinRa. Some ways were a little more... passive aggressive than others." Fuhito stood, beginning to search the room. "A jammer is a fairly simple piece of machinery. You need a power source, an antenna, an oscillator, a tuning circuit, a noise generator, and... Hmm. You wouldn't know if there was a small... wooden rod around here, would you? I need to make a coil of wire."

He chuckled as he caught her sarcastic tone. He adjusted his glasses as he began rummaging through the box once again. If they had an oscillator in a component chip, it'd certainly save some time, space, and room for errors.

"What can I say? From what I've read on his work, he knew what he was doing." Fuhito smiled and pulled out a white noise generator instead.

"Passive-aggressive as in not allowing certain communications of... those who stood in our way." Fuhito held his smile and took the rod. He really couldn't care less, but if he was going to be working with this woman, he might as well get on her good side. Fuhito began to wind some copper wire around the rod, "I'm terribly sorry you had to be involved with the operation to such an extent. It was just business, of a sort."

Fuhito's interests had been piqued with her little slip. He quirked a brow, turning to face Laylee, still winding the wire, "Duly noted, doctor, but perhaps you should tell me exactly why and for whom we are building this jammer, hm? Then I could appreciate the importance that you are clearly placing upon it."

He always obtained the information he wanted. Always.

"Probably more than one," Fuhito voiced, absent-minded. He was more concerned with keeping the wire coil in tact. He clipped the ends of the wire and set it beside a capacitor. The tuning circuit was now complete: Some assembly required.

"I know of Sephiroth. The last I had heard of him, however, he had met his end in a mako reactor." Fuhito began to sketch out the basics of a RF amplifier, as they seemed not to have one on hand. His voice was low and it dripped with cyanide as he spoke; he clearly wanted to hear this story."Apparently I'm missing the information that lies between then and the tank." Fuhito looked up from his plans, the dark tone dropped, "If we need brackets, we'll need a sturdy casing. You can draw one of those up, correct?"

The "Or do I have to do all the work?" was lost as he finished his sketch.

"I'm a prisoner of ShinRa, doctor; I'm surprised I have clearance to even be in this lab," Fuhito stated with a half-smile. But just because he knew that he had no clearance or permission to do so, or he might fall out of the professor's good graces, it didn't mean he wasn't going to try anyway. He'd just have to take extreme care in planning to do so.

He had a fascination of sorts with the Silver Haired SOLDIER. After all, Fuhito had an explicit knowledge that no matter how perfect his plan was, all ShinRa would had to do was call in Sephiroth, and then it would be game over. He wanted to know what made Sephiroth tick.

Perhaps the answer was already given to him. Hoping that Laylee couldn't keep a few more tidbits of information to herself, the young man began to look through the box yet again, half-way paying attention to his question.. Please, please let there be an oscillator. "What are Jenova cells, by the way?"

"What's ShinRa's motto again? 'If something works, do it'?" Fuhito asked, his voice still ever-so-innocent. These jokes won't get old, will they?

He heard about this new AVALANCHE, somewhat. He heard some kid with spikey hair and a motorcycle was the rag-tag group's leader. Already, he had a bad opinion of him. Fuhito made an uninterested noise as he soldered the noise generator into the tuning circuit. Midgar deserved the destruction.

He perked up at the talk about the cells. Fuhito could have sworn he had heard the name Jenova before. Perhaps he read it instead. Carefully, he set down the soldering iron as Laylee explained. Cells, but they function like a virus. Curious. He could see the merit in their use, however: Sephiroth was a living (or reborn, was it?) testament to that.

"Sephiroth has those cells, hm... How did he obtain them?" Maybe this question could quell the feeling of familiarity Fuhito felt.

Fuhito made an unsatisfied noise. He nodded and busyied himself with wiring up the ocilator and the RF amplifier. He never read any published work on Jenova, other than it was believed to be of Cetran descent; so did the rest of the public. However, the Nibelheim facility's resources weren't as secure as ShinRa thought. How else would have Fuhito known about the exact origins of Elfe's materia and the power of Zirconaide itself?

His expression didn't say that, however. He still was confused about Sephiroth's origins. The Jenova project files were incredibly vague. Fuhito never gave away information. The extent of his knowledge was worth all his pawns, and he couldn't lose them all so early in the game.

Time for a slight subject change as he picked up the soldering iron once again. "What did Sephiroth do that warranted confinement... and this lovely device? I understand that this is to limit... telepathic communication. But still, why?"

He nodded; Fuhito took note that if he wanted information, he'd have to ask a different source. Laylee had served her use years ago. Fuhito could find a source. He was sure of it. "Interesting," he muttered as if it weren't. He had traveled this path as far as it could go. Now it was time to find an exit.

Fuhito stopped his work for a moment. There were more of him? Gaia save us all. "So, I should keep an eye out for them, hm?" He was being rhetorical. Of course he would. It'd be foolish not to.

There lied Fuhito's exit: The old director of the Turks. Fuhito picked up a spare antenna (obviously from an old radio that no one had any use for any more) and began to wire it up to the amplifier. "The Director... How is he doing, by the way? I've seen him, but he and I weren't exactly in the state to do any catching up, so to speak."

Fuhito soldered the antenna, then started checking his connections of the components to the stripboard.

Fuhito frowned. Of course he was talking about Veld. He knew that the protoge took over for some time, but he never did consider him the true leader of the Turks. His voice was flat and emotionless, "I assumed that you could follow a coherent string of conversation, Doctor... however, that's nice to hear."

He began to wire up a power source for the device; a plug, because batteries in such a device this size can wear out quickly. "Almost done. We just need to tune it and it should be ready for operation."

He spotted the expression. He took it with a grain of salt, however; the feeling was mutual.

"He is just the more familiar head of the group to me. That's all. I have no intentions to 'get along' with him." Fuhito said, complete with air quotes. Nothing had changed, he thought, but nothing had stayed the same either. Karma just decided to be a little more active in their lives, it seemed.

Fuhito nodded and returned to his notes, looking through a page full of equations. "Get the GHM running and leave it to me."
