Chapter 3: Shinra HQ in Gongaga

The power is out, but Gongaga is far from dark and quiet. Too close for comfort, the fires consuming the power generator rage. A section of the burning building explodes, and those inside the Shinra HQ would have to be quite immensely focused to not take notice of rattling windows. Something must be done, and quickly. "rrrrrrrr" it was a little sound, something like a purr and a growl. Two hops brought a tiny green body into view. Its busy tail was as long as its body and its rabbit-like ears were rotating about. It then sat up on its back legs and made the "rrrr" sound much louder.

*listen to me!!*

It dropped to its front legs and made a little "rar!". The tail puffed out and became larger than its body by far. "Rrrrrrrrrr." Little teeth looked quite sharp and it then bounded to him in fox-like hops.

A little "huff" followed when Hojo didn't move. Then she began to chew on the toe of Hojo's sneakers.

Rat?! It was as if the summon heard him and the sharp little teeth broke through his shoe. It then bounced and yapped at him, making little snarling sounds.

The little creature was fast alarmingly so. It hopped at him, snarling and growling while baring those horribly sharp teeth. It would dart forward and snap at his feet, somehow missing and clapping the air by his ankles. Every movement of Hojo's was met with a hop and snap.

She kept pace with him quite well and continued to nip at his feet, sometimes jumping up to ear level. This continued till the pair found themselves outside. At that moment, Carbuncle hopped up onto Hojo's shoulder, long tail brushed against his back.

"rrr"

There was a purr that rumbled in her little chest. She pressed her nose against his cheek and then lifted her tail around Hojo's shoulder. Using the long furry appendage, Carbuncle pointed off in the direction of the helipad.

Another little purr and then a soft, black tongue darted out and licked against Hojo's cheek.

Less than a breath later, she was gone, just a poof in the air.

Maybe she hadn't been there at all.
