race this weekend
ran in the hopebuilder 5k yesterday. finished in 30:52, which is better than the time i got last weekend. i finished 242 out of 359 (132/179 for my gender). the overall winner finished in 16:01 which means he ran three 5:10 miles back to back. i don't know about you, but i don't think i could ever run a 5:10 mile. there was a guy pushing a baby jogger that finished in 22:06.
well, anyway, i am going to continue to run and will try and work myself up to a 10k before my birthday. i am ok with my pace, i don't care to be a speed demon. i am not ok with my overall fitness level, so i am going to keep adding mileage. my goal is to work up to a not too shabby, but at least finished marathon next year. sort of a welcome to 40 present to myself.
