Chapter 40: Blog banned again?

May 13, 2007 11:40

During the May break, I was able to access blog normally (without using alternate method to wiggle my way into here) and after the break ends, it seems I again cannot access it normally so got to use alternate method.

But it's such a pain in the arse, and I hate to have to resort to it to get my blogging down. *sigh*

So what's up in L'int Land?

Got my toxicology final in two weeks time. It's a restrictive elective and many students didn't take it cuz the prof's known to test to the details. A very picky prof indeed. But I bravely take on the challange... The subject actually isn't that difficult, it's just detailled. Ganbatte for ME!

I'm officially in the club now. Chrisa will register my name into the system, and had asked for my contact information already. In about an hour or so, I'll be attending to the weekly neutering/spaying operation....that is, attend the club. My job? I donno. But apparently "they" will tell me what to do. I'm not the the person controlling the scalpal....nor would I want to for my first time, nor will I ever for this year...

From my vague understanding, the club divided its members into two main groups: those that help out in the surgery itself (like the surgeon, helpers, assistants or just foreshadowing) and those that handles the clients and take care of the aftermath of the surgery. The club is also divided into different department, e.g. the advertisment department, the office, the finances and material department etc. Apparently I've been placed in the advertisment+handle aftermath category.... neh. not too sure. Whatever really.

I told my mom that, and she asked... wouldn't that suck? not able to be near the surgery per se? Funny how I answered: depend on what angle you're viewing from; for one I know I'll never hold that blade nor will I be assistants. The closes position I can get to would be the extra person viewing from the sideline which I've been all the time when I volunteered and worked in the vet clinic last year. In fact, being in the clinic gives me the chance to be an assistant as well. That's why if I cannot hold that knife, hell, being in the sideline would be a waste of time. Besides, these surgical practice will be taught in lectures and labs. On the other hand, handling clients and the atermaths of the surgery isn't something one can learn all the time straight from books or lectures; it's more of a social experience that needed to be accumulated. Thus I'll concentrate first on how to handle clients and such and then worry about operation next year, when I'm fourth year... muwahahahhaah!!! Hopefully my client handling experiences from the vet clinic will aid a bit.

Ah. that's the way I see it.

That's all for now. Donno when is the next time I update. Stupid Banning.... so inconvenient.
