This is the silk cover on the koto. There's a pocket for one end while it underlaps the other end.



One end of the koto. The design is beautiful.



The other end, which has a cardboard cap covered with silk.



Uncapped, this is the beautiful detail around the end. I thought it was supposed to look like this when...



...I realized that this was a decorative wood piece that goes in the empty place on the end.

I have my work cut out for me before this thing is restored. But hoo-boy, once it is, it'll be reeeeeee-al purty. :-)
