On the first day of HS Music Appreciation, I was discussing with the class what they thought music was made of and the different styles it came in. I gave them a writing assignment: "How do you describe music?" On happier notes, that is a wonderful description of music (and art in general).

I like to think of art and music as one soul connecting to another, which aside from love, is impossible to do otherwise. A world without either love or art is a very desolate place.

"How do I describe music...?"

I was thinking today about tap dancing and how it is more than a dance but making music with your feet. To me, music is something that makes your heart feel, it's a way to express emotions and to communicate.
