Ok, so here is the down-low and all that jazz for my broken-self.
after seeing numerous doctors and getting loads of cat scans, they came to the conclusion that i need to be operated on next week, either mon., tues., or wed. they told me my elbow is not a bad fracture at all, and it'll heal just fine, and at a reasonable rate. as for my hand, that's where most the damage is. they told me that i fractured a couple carple bones (for those really into anatomy, the scaphoid and the capitate bones right above my wrist, which are 2 out of the 8 bones that make up the lower half of my hand). The capitate bone i fractured in two spots, and the one part of the bone completely rotated and moved out of place (i know sounds gross, right?), so they need to stick some screws to get that bone back into position so that it can begin to heal. As for the scaphoid, this bone is one of only a few where blood circulates back AND forth in, and i fractured it at a spot where the blood can't do this and get through the bone. the doctor said we can't let that go for long, because the other half of the bone isnt getting any blood, and will eventually die and rot, causing HUGE arthritic problems, and making my hands less mobil...so i wouldnt be able to play the piano anymore :(.
so needless to say, im not too thrilled. especially at the part where they said i could be in a cast for 6 months. that's double the time they told me to begin with. but as long as they fix it so that i wont have any problems in the future, i cant complain. i just want to play the piano and guitar again.hmm, and i'm also running out of codeine, so this'll be an interesting next week!
just bear with the bitching for the next couple of months you guys. and i already apologize for my typing, i'm already getting faster with my left hand though!
ok, and now, for a friends only entry.
