I'm a big fan of the Fallout series of games, so I was looking forward to Fallout 3 very excitedly. It has not disappointed, and I'm barely into the story.
Sandbox-style open exploration, fantastically-realized post-apocalyptic environments, the ability to play first/third person shooter style OR switch to an action point-based RPG style on the fly, the fantastic music, the reasonably good story... In my opinion, this ranks pretty highly on the "must-haves" list for almost any console. Fans of the original, fans of the genre, and almost anyone else should pick it up.
Crap. I'm not done blowing up Venezuela with Dana in Mercs 2, I'm still toying with Soul Calibur 4, I just got this and Ace Combat 6, haven't managed to get ahold of Force Unleashed yet, plus I'm looking down the barrel of things like Left 4 Dead and Call of Duty: World at War later this month. And I've got two MMO's sitting around gathering dust.

PS: My laptop is having recall-from-HP-level issues, so I will probably have to send it in for repairs, leaving me chained to my work rig for a bit. Yeee-hah.
All things considered, life is pretty good when you can complain about having too many good games to play.
