What's changed, what's the same...
Hmm, with the title as a base, I believe my update should be what is old news before delving into the changes in my life.
First and foremost, I am still unemployed, thisis due to the fact the economy in Michigan sucks monkey nuts. Granholm is a frigging moron and the people that reelected her are when more stupid. Still not in college but am looking. Right now I am strugglign with a choice I have a few hours left to make. Do I take $40,000 worth of Student Loans or do I wait 2 years (time between the courses I need at the local college) and try for grants and scholarships in that window? I'm still a gamer to the core and still love role-playing (looking for a D&D group here in Cadillac). No real changes in my personality which is good I guess.
What has changed in the last year? That's far more complicated.
First, everyone knows that a week prior to Christmas Dad lost his job and a couple days after New Years Mom died. Well, since we finally found, bought, and settled in a house in Cadillac, Michigan (roughly 45 minutes south of Traverse City). The house is okay, still needs a bit of work done (cosmetic mostly when we can afford it... though I would LOVE a door to my room. I miss everyone downstate, I thought I was lonely before... here I have no friends and pretty much no way to make any. Yeah before anyone says "Just go out" it's not that easy for me. Friendship is not something easy, it takes time for me to trust people. The biggest change though is summed up in one single word. Laurana.
Yes, I have a girlfriend. She's amazing. I met her on a DragonRaid mailing list I have been on for about 10 or 12 years now. A couple years ago she asked anyone who knew DR's world and lore to proofread she was writing, so I did. Wasn't bad at all but she abandoned it since. Well we emaild back and forth, talked on Yahoo Messenger then she poofed. A couple months ago she came back and we talked, alot. Well, the friendship rekindled fast and the more we talked the more we liked eachother. We've been together just over a month now and it's been great... just wish she was closer. You see she's 4 hours away. Not too bad but her parents told her to wait for next summer before meeting me face-to-face. We can live with that, hate it.... alot, but we'll deal with it.
