OK, so today has been somewhat of an interesting day (hence the tremendously creative title of my post). I was awakened this morning at the crack of 11:30, to the sound of my phone alerting me to new text message, after new text message, after new text message. You see, being somewhat of a technology enthusiast (otherwise known as a geek or nerd) I have equipped my phone with the ability to play different alert sounds, depending on the identity of the party attempting to send me a message. I have different sounds for
Twitter messages,
Facebook updates, and various other computer-systems, as well as specific tones for certain people, although they need to be programmed individually, and this is somewhat inconvenient. To return to something more closely resembling the subject of this post, the sound I was hearing repeated was the one assigned to “text message - undefined sender” (which is the one used when most real-people send me messages, and sounds much like the level completion sound from
Lode Runner on the
Apple IIe).
