Its probably a result of growing up in the Northwest, but I've always liked trees. How could anyone not, they're great huge bundles of life. Ehh, maybe if I grew up in Downtown L.A. or Manhattan I would think differently.
So I can't understand when cities (that I will choose not to name) cut away swathes of large beautiful trees. The whole Los Angeles basin could use more trees. Especially when you see more along the sides of freeways than say around schools and such.
For reference, this is the recent view (via google streetview) of the street I grew up on through most of my school years. Bonus points to anyone that can guess the area without looking at the image name.
