A quarter of a year in Central Europe [#projectBrno blog post]

Well, in some ways, things are turning out more or less as expected. For instance, three months here have absolutely flown by; I just had to count up how long I'd been here as I couldn't believe it. Other aspects have not -- for instance, the loss of my job. So much for my nascent career as a tech writer -- the next position I've found for myself ( Read more... )

Well, with no work at the moment, I am eating out less and cooking more, so I am losing a little weight again. But this city has too much beer! /Somebody/ has to help them get rid of it.

Depending on what happens with jobs etc. I /might/ move to Prague at some point. I think I might get bored here after a while. But so far, I am really happy that I made the move.

Next thing, though, might be to find myself a bigger flat all of my own -- I am still in a shared one -- and get the rest of my stuff over from the UK.

Radler are becoming more available here -- in particular a Fosters branded one is becoming ubiquitous and it's actually damned good (because it doesn't really matter what the underlying lager is if it mainly tastes of lemon).
