In other news

PC Kevin Allison of the Wimbledon police phoned me today. They have apprehended, arrested and charged Tony "Scroteboy" Beasley, my errant quondam lodger. He confessed to everything, but denied that he had taken any cash from my wallet. Everything else, though, he owned up to; apparently, he broke down in tears, said he'd made a terrible mistake and was utterly apologetic. Oh, and apparently he produced evidence that the Playstation stuff he sold was taken from his mother's home and not mine.

The PC was quite surprised and said he believed him: such admissions are very rare in his experience, he told me, especially from that type of person. He said that apparently Tony had been having a bad time recently and that he seemed very depressed.

Pardon me if I'm not particularly sympathetic.

I don't suppose I'll get anything else back, apart from the stuff they've already recovered, but I am rather cheered by this news, nonetheless. I don't suppose he'll go down for it, but then, if he did, I suppose he'd come out even more of a hard case. Still, I'm happy that my efforts at tracing him and where my stuff had gone bore fruit. If I hadn't done some digging, he'd have got away with it.
