Is it just me, or does smut go slower than self-indulgent psychobabble, in the writing ( Read more... )

Thank you, for the kind words and for the rec :)

And I'm not EXTREMELY new to fic, being as I started shipping Sam/Jack the first episode of Stargate SG-1 I ever watched, but up until BSG I never wrote a damn thing, save all these false starts of sci-fi/fantasy novels, but I was thirteen then, so I suppose I can be forgiven. In any event, 'round the same time as I started getting into fanfic, I started getting into LJ... And my English teacher insists that it was my brief stint in Catholic school as a small child that made a writer of me, but I insist it was fanfic. Which is going to be a terribly undignified thing to confess, if ever such a time comes that I'm asked, I'll have to divulge my fangirl roots.

In any event, though, I was a wee tad young to be scampering around writing smut in my earlier days, and I never had the mental discipline to commit to anything longer than 1000 words, so this fic is a first for me on several levels. And it was a labor of love, one hundred percent. Because as easy as it is to get carried away in passionate situations in real life, it's somewhat hard to seal yourself into your own little world of hot, hot sex when it's words on a page.

Though I gotta say. Running back to real life for a couple years and being a loose woman, and accruing the experience I could only theretofore fake, helps in the process of writing 'erotica'... (because nobody will let me call chapter two smut. i feel somehow cheated of my dirty-girl crown.)

anyway, apologies for the mostly irrelevant novel i wrote in reply....
