August Updates
Here are all of the latest updates:
- I still don't have a teaching job for September. It's frustrating as all hell, though I've applied to a couple of part-time postings that have crept up. Perhaps... though I worry how well I'll interview as I'm hacking and dying... more on that next!
- I returned from Massachusetts during the first week of August, and on the 6th and 7th, I whapped my head on the top of the shed door. This resulted in a slight concussion and some whiplash. All from mowing the lawn. Great, eh?
- In the days that followed, I developed both a cough and a fever. By the weekend, I had a 103° fever, a wicked cough, and felt like garbage. I couldn't sleep and when I did, I'd wake up sweating like a pig. On Sunday, Mark took me to the clinic at St. Mary's Hospital, and they diagnosed me with an ear infection. I was put on Augmentin.
- By the following Friday, my cough was wretched. I went back and they took a nose culture, chest x-ray, and changed the antibiotics. Though the ear was improving, it seems that I have a respiratory infection that doesn't want to quit. I still have wicked cough attacks that sound and feel like a lung is bound to pop out at any moment, and I don't feel "great".
- I still need to find a doctor for follow-up.
