Long Day
Oh was today a long day. Regionals was today and it was grand. The team did good. We left the school at about 6:45am and went out to breakfast at Big Boys. We got in Ypsi around 8:30 I think. It was a long day out there but we had some success. We have two people going to states! Bethany is going for discus, she threw a 117 (ft) and qualifing for states was only 112. We expected her to go. And then the shock of the day came. Mark broke the school record in the prelims of long jump by an half an inch (20ft 8 1/2 in). He was pumped up and it got him in the finals. 21ft qualifies you for the finals and Mark's first jump of the finals he jumps a freakin' 21ft 9 1/2inches!!! Crazy... it was cool. So we're heading to Rockford on June 3rd out in Grand Rapids the day before the finals (Friday). Then Mark gets to shine on June 4th for the state finals. That's it for now... the rest of us only have one meet left and that is Tuesday (leagues) at Romulous. Then I start working on switching my lead leg and trail leg up because I think I will be more successful that way and continue working on the 3 step between the hurdles during the summer in preparation for maybe a few meets during the summer and indoor in the winter.
Tomorrow Mende, Neil, and myself will be attending the Tigers game @ 7pm followed by some fireworks. I think we're going out to eat before and then getting there a little early for batting practice because that's always fun.
