Yule: It's not just a Krynnish Holiday anymore (including Santa letter - oi!)
Okay, so major journal redesign. Things actually look like I care about how they look, which I do. So there.
Yuletide always had a pretty bleak connotation to me. In Dragonlance terrminology, it was that delightful time of year when the gods chose to hurl a fiery mountain from the heavens, sinking whole continents and generally ensuring 300+ years of suck.
However, my tentative entry into fannish writing has sort of taken care of the negative vibes. Joined up for Yuletide this year, which apparently not a lot of guys do. They should. Usually they're so busy sublimating their homoerotic tendecies into writing Vs. matches between state alchemists that they can't see the gay for the trees. Not necessarily implying that fic = slash, as I'm no slasher meself, but damn! there has, has HAS to be a reason that boyfen are constantly writing about mighty magicians hurling (fire)balls at each other. Just a thought.
DR. HORRIBLE: The emo-hoodie ending needs an emotional expansion...plz? I'm looking for a primarily Billy-centric piece, perhaps dealing with the Evil League of Evil while simultaneously confronting Penny's death (maybe possibly from an idealogical as well as an emotional perspective?) Support characters would be appreciated, but aren't necessary. Could be as simple or as complex as the author would like - mainly looking for some angst+light at the end of the disillusioned tunnel. Also, any Captain Hammer would be appreciated.
FUTURAMA: Like most everybody, I'm bitterly disappointed by the dropped Fry/Leela in the new films. I love these characters - especially together - and would take almost anything romantic (comically romantic is a plus). I'm looking for a piece that doesn't disregard the movies, but just sort of sweeps the crap aside. Gotta be a reason they've been so distant, right? Maybe? I Included Zapp because he's both hilarious and often pushes Fry and Leela closer together. Would be appreciated, but not really a requirement.
PRYDAIN: Big, big Fflewddur Fflam fan. Can't believe he sailed off into the sunset, really...but what really got the proverbial goat was how quickly everyone hopped on board and sailed away. I'm looking for an in-between period, before he leaves (feel free to disregard canon timeline). Looking for slightly emo, slightly sorrowful, ultimately happy fic with some possible Taran/Eilonwy goodness. Always loved how these three characters played off each other.
STARDUST (movie): Looking for some Captain Shakespeare. Especially interested in reflective Cap. Shakespeare, and details on how Bernard came to join the crew. A Bernard/Shakespeare scene would be fantastic - really think Shakespeare could give the poor guy a fantastic makeover. Other characters welcome to intrude. Looking for something sweet, and a Shakespeare/Bernard romance is totally okay.
