lifting up the shield of faith
for the last week, ive been listening to Jason Upton on my way to work, i look forward to it every morning now, well as much as you can look forward to things getting up at 6.30am!
i got this vision of a battlefield and this one person in the centre holding up a shield, to protect them from the arrows falling down. but everyone around them was dead or dying, all lying around the one holding the shield but they all had their own shields too, they didnt use what they had been given and the one who did could cover them all, they couldn't save the others no matter how hard they tried.
we all have what we need, we need to grasp it, hold it, use it.
we cant protect everyone all the time. not in a way that we dont care or carry burdens or whatever, but sometimes when you carry too much you wear yourself out and people need to learn to fight sometimes. we should continually pray, whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven.....paraphrasing somewhat.
we are so blessed, we have a caring father who has provided us with everything we need, are we using it? we are an army, we need to stand holding the armour we are given, to use it for protection. our army is only " effective" when each individual knows what they have and uses it.
im actually finding it really hard to put into words but i hope i got some of it across
it is about choice - decide to not be discouraged anymore
