Week on a plate!

This week I've eaten out more often than usual (if that's possible) so I might as well round up my whole week in food terms...

On Monday post-gym I ate leftover chilli from last weekend. Not so exciting. It was great chilli though - made with chuck steak from Brockley Market, cheap bacon & loads of green finger chillis from Khan's Bargain. I still have some in the freezer.

On Tuesday I went to Tonkotsu. I know loads of people have been raving about it, but maybe I just don't get the ramen thing. My Tonkotsu ramen was very nice (milky, porky & comforting), but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. As well as the ramen, we shared some veggie gyoza (gyozae?) and loads of edamame beans.

On Wednesday Matt & I went to the theatre to see The Turn of the Screw, and beforehand we had a quick dinner in Tortilla. I do love Tortilla, they're a bit of a perennial favourite. I always have a beef burrito, extra hot, and they never fail to deliver.

Thursday was another gym night, so when I got home I had half a chorizo & pork pie from Hartland Pies at Brockley Market. I am totally in love with their pies (I have half a pulled pork one still in the fridge).

On Friday Matt & I got a very last-minute booking at John Salt. We've been pretty lucky for the last 2 weeks, only deciding where to eat at lunchtime then managing to bag a table. I'd been looking forward to eating at John Salt for ages. To start, we shared potted beef brisket, with sourdough & pickles. For mains, Matt had green chilli poussin & I had mussels. We shared a grilled salad & aged beef dripping frites. The grilled salad was pretty bonkers but delicious. Overall it was good, but I wasn't blown away by it, like I was blown away by Vinoteca last week.

On Saturday I went to the gym, and afterwards I had 8 "Woof Woof" buffalo wings from the Orange Buffalo. Buffalo wings = the perfect post-workout snack. So good! And in the evening Matt & I shared a pulled pork pork pie, again from Hartland Pies.

And then today Matt & I had lunch at the Crown & Anchor in Brixton - roast pork for me, beef for him. We followed it up with coffee & lemon-blueberry cake from Sponge & Cream in Brixton Village. Yum yum yum! Then we had to go home because we were freezing our bits off.

After all that, it's probably not surprising that I weighed in at 72.8kg this morning. Not that I'm anywhere near competition at the moment, but I'm trying to stay under that magic 72kg mark. But not trying *too* hard, evidently ;-)
