I love how pugilistic Sam is, as he has to be, and the not-quite-gentle manipulation he can exert with those tendencies. Gene can't win for losing, or lose for winning.

The unintentional manipulation is the part I like the most. Where Sam really doesn't have a clue. :D

Thank you!

Sam really would say 'the least you owe me is a pasty'. I never heard the incorrect version in 18 years in the Manchester area, and I'm close to Sam's age.

Thank you :D

You know what, I've had that right on at least three separate occasions, and changed it here for... no good reason. So I corrected it, because, yeah, I use it the right way myself. I'm pretty sure it was a weird syllables thing, in which my brain tells me I need more or less syllables to get the pacing of dialogue right and I end up adding or omitting words.

Just managing to catch up while on my tea break with the last couple of chapters and wanted to say that I am really enjoying this series. The depth and the new layers and insights that keep on appearing are intriguing and keep me coming back for more. *runs off back to work*

I love this young Sam of yours, he's all practical and smart and just a little devious :-)

One quick niggle:

raking in a three thousand dollar profit

This is Britain, that should be pounds, not dollars.

This is way too many years of Australia taking its toll! :D ;)

I corrected that terrible error, as it was pointed out by someone else. I feel really ashamed it had to be pointed out to me, what with my anal editing skillz, but, there we go.

Sam is Sam, only all passion all the time. Thank you!

“Margaret Thatcher’s cushiony derriere?”
AHAHA. XD What's happened to the hole in your arse now, Genie? :P

"I want you to stop being a pissant,” Gene says slowly
:D I love it when a plan comes together.

spins Sam around, grabbing him so that he’s tight against his back, Sam’s right arm sandwiched between them
Echoes of canon, lovely. <3

He about collapses when Gene opens the door and drags him in. Gene hauls him onto the sofa and cradles his jaw.
Aaaand lots of h/c! I couldn't ask for anything more, really. :)

I know, right? Shame he couldn't squeeze a 'knob-head' in there. If only, "I will kill you... knob-head" didn't dilute the drama.

Thank you :D
