That's interesting. I quite liked Catherine Tate - I think I can live with this. It'll be nice and snarky anyhow - none of this fawning and stuff. Not that I minded the fawning, just I don't want it again right away.

But I think you're right - they missed a trick not having a bit of Master-as-companion. I read a fantastic fic yesterday which put forward that idea (can't remember who it was by right now) and I hope there'll be some similar fics to follow. How good would that be - the Doctor trying to escape from evil aliens and the Master trying to help them?!

I'm going to be horrified if she falls in love with the Doctor. Really. Horrified.

It would have been so great. If there's one thing that makes me depressed it's brilliant ideas dangled like carrots and then ripped away.

"Doctor, what's this sticky stuff all over my screwdriver?"

"Oh, didn't I tell you? The toilet's blocked again. I thought that if I reversed the polarity of the-"

"But you can't use my screwdriver, isomorphic controls, remember?"

"Well, yes, I know that, but I needed something to loosen the-"

"No! No! Don't you dare finish that sentence."

"-debris, and it was the only thing lying about at the time."

"That's it, I'm taping over your copy of Britain's Got Talent."

"Fine by me. I'm not the one with the crush on Ant. Or is it Dec?"

"And I get to blow up the next planet we go by, using my brand new doomsday device."

"Sorry, can't do that, I'm using it to prop up the table in the fourth room over."

"You... you...!"

"Don't point that finger at me unless you intend to use it."

Considering RTD's main failing in the finale appears to have been too much plot, maybe that's not such a bad thing.

That sound you hear is the final nail in my Doctor Who coffin.

... no, I think I'm still hearing my echoing wails after realising there's no more Simm!Master. But I do understand.

Just one or two, you know? It would have been like The Odd Couple, only with more genocide.

YES! That would have been fantastic. Hee hee.

:D

Oh, RTD - giving us this glimmer and then cruelly taking it away.
