Oh, I SO concur. I'm trying not to think about it any more, because it just makes my stomach hurt.
Just so completely WRONG. But their categories are so screwed. Why have a sustained acting job in a series up against a one-off program? Makes no sense at all.
OK, gotta think about bunnies or something, or I'll never sleep.
Gene Hunt probably has a whole paragraph - beginning with shortsighted, limp-wristed pansies belonging in bedlam for their cracked-out, terminally idiotic shite judgement.
I'm moved to swearing myself. John was fucking robbed. He deserved that award. There's no comparison. None at all. But I guess the Academy is too snobbish to acknowledge that popular entertainment like Life on Mars can also be high art.
You can't put the effort and work he went into - away from his family, constant and gruelling - to be in 8 hours of television -against a one-off performance. It's unfuckingfair.
John Simm was nominated for the Best Actor BAFTA. He really deserved it - everyone who's seen even one episode of Life on Mars would know that. And he lost out to Jim Broadbent.
Also, Life on Mars was nominated for Best Drama and didn't get that also.
