Poetry is word art...
Apr 05, 2007 13:48
April is apparently poetry month and we're supposed to share poems, so I shall share two of my favourite poems by other people and one I wrote myself.

I'm not really much of a poetry person, but I like them all. :)

I never, ever understand how anyone could not be a poetry person, but I am glad you liked these.
"Life as Sheep" is such a fun one to speak out loud.

Poetry is less "I don't like it" and more "I don't get it" with me. And also "I can't write it unless it's deliberately silly".

I can only imagine reading Life as a Sheep to a group of kids. How fantastic. :D
Here's one I've adored since I was little.
And a silly limerick a friend and I wrote in a biology class:
There once was a crayfish named Sushi
His insides were very mushy
We cut out his eye
And sliced him like pie
All that's left is a glob; rather squishy.

That pig statue is pretty cool. I don't think there's anything that impressive at the malls around here.

There are four of them. They actually are very cool. Rundle Mall is an open-air mall - it's a street, really.
