I won a competition! I've basically never won anything before, so you can imagine my surprise when I was told. I won this dress, which makes me so happy. Other skater style dresses suit me really well and I've wanted something lacy and feminine for a while. For reasons.

I also bought myself a coat for next winter, and with a birthday coupon bought two skirts and a pair of tights. My wardrobe is so aces now. I really need to start a new t-shirt collection next year, though.

I have decided to give HarvestBox a go because I don't have enough nuts in my diet and I am super lazy. They're similar to Graze, only don't appear to have the same range. Yet. I'm hoping yet. I'd go wild for some of the Graze options.

I've bought most of my Christmas presents already and I'm going to put up my tree this week. \o/ I'm in my final week of school for the year. Next January I will have an all new class. I'm a little sad, because I could happily keep 7/8ths of my current class for another year. I have some lovely personalities in this little bunch.

And, finally, I've been pulling a prank on my kids about us growing candy canes*. I think, from tomorrow, they're not going to believe it. But they did at first, which made me laugh and laugh and laugh. I told them that it wasn't really about growing so much as sugar crystallising and bonding together, and oh, the poor munchkins, they fell for it hook-line-and-sinker. It's been a brilliant morale boost for a stressful end of term (for me, though they've enjoyed it too; we wrote a scientific report, we've recorded our results, they check them every session!)

We started off putting a pink and a white tictac in drinking chocolate and adding some green food dye (as all the candy canes I had acquired were pink, white and green.) Then, that night, I added some crushed candy cane. Another night, more crushed candy cane. And then the next night, a little piece! Then, there was the weekend and they didn't grow, because they were 'out of the sun' (i.e: Loz had to sign off on reports and didn't have time to make the switcheroo.) So tonight; bwweeeehehehe. One final stage: the tall candy canes. JOY.

(*Prank not of my devising, though I have modified it a little.)
