Why Hawaii?

Many of you know that I am super excited about going to Hawaii in July. I have always wanted to experience the beauty of Hawaii for myself instead of just seeing it in pictures. God has blessed me even more though...I will be experiencing the beauty of working for Him and serving Him in Hawaii. It is awesome to think that He trusts me enough to go over to some place I have never been before and be a witness for Him...it kind of makes me nervous. It will be my first time to go on a mission trip with my fiancee and his family....its crazy how God blesses us.. As a sister in Christ...i need your help... We are looking for prayers, love, encouragement, and financial support. If any of you guys would like to help and contribute in any of these ways please contact me and I will send you the information that you need. We have a team of 30 going to help the people of Nanakuli and just knowing that people are praying for us will strengthen us. I have given yall some information about our project so that yall can be praying about it.

The Baptist convention of North Carolina has entered into a partnership with the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention. This Partnershp began in January of 2005 and will continue untl the end of 2007. Volunteers will have the opportunity to serve in the areas of evangelism, leadership training, VBS, construction, sports outreach, community canvassing, revival teams, camps, prayer walks and more. All projects will be field-generated by Bapist churches and entities in Hawaii and the Pacific and approved by the Partnership Coordinator.

While an exotic and beautiful place, Hawaii presents unique ministry challenges. Hawaii has a tremendously diverse popluation including Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Filipino, and Pacific Islanders. It has been estimated that more than 90% of the residents of Hawaii have no personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In addition to reaching out to the local population, there are also over seven million tourists who visit the islands each year. These visitors come from all over the world. Volunteers will discover exciting opportunities in assisting Hawaiin Baptists in reaching their communitites and the whole world for Christ. Be in prayer about this exciting Partnership and your participation in it!

Nanakuli First Baptish Chruch in Kapolei, HI has asked for assistance. They are a small congregation in need of much help. Several months ago their pastor died and while they are pressing on, there is a serious need of leadership/discipleship training and focused outreach. They want a group to help them with a community-wide evangelistic crusade and other related activities. Please pray for this church family.

The Puu Kahea Baptist Conference Center in Waianae, HI has also requested help in clean-up and construction. This is where we will be staying and we will have many opportunities to help these fine people make this beautiful center the show place it has the potential of being; all for the glory of God.

At Main Street Baptist Church we considered the possibility of reaching out to Hawaii a year ago and have been praying about it ever since. Much consideration has been given to factors concerning the trip; the length of the trip, the expense of the trip, what impact we can make while preparing to go and while there, other missions possibilites and many other issues. We feel confident that the Lord is leading this endeavor and wants us to move forward boldly.

We hope that as you pray about and consider what the Lord would have you and your family do concerning this Missions Partnership, you would follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit so God would be honored in this and any missions effort.

If you would like more information...please let me know...:)

Thank you guys for taking the time to read this...

Blessings and Love
