Went by myself to meet a friend from law school and we went visiting some old friends; Dos Jeffes, Napoleon House, Port of Call, Superior Grill ...
Good times. Good times.
Reminds me; last time I was there we saw The ABT Studio Company "and Stars" perform at Tulane. Shanynrose gave me the heads up to watch for Aria Alekzander, formerly of The Anaheim Ballet. I did and she was good. A bit wooden in expression, but a fine dancer who seemed to have "it" - that unexplainable thing that makes you want to watch someone.
After her season with ABT Studio, she moved on to a position as a full company member with The Houston Ballet. Nothing to sneeze at, Houston has one of the top ballet companies in the country, but geeze, watch the girl in clip below; the turns! The rock solid balances! If that can't get you into ABT, what will? For all my wondering 'what if?' - this should tell me, I never would have made it.
