[There's a slightly confused sound because what the hell, Granger, you sound like a real girl for once.]

...Crookshanks. [It's more or less a statement than a question, since he's not entirely sure he knows who or what a Crookshanks is.]

[It'll never happen again, don't worry. And it's a good hour before she replies.]

Yes, Crookshanks. My cat. Well, he's really half-Kneazle. [She still sounds pretty delighted.]

Ah. Well, all right th--...I'm sorry, did you just say Kneazle?

Yes. Have you never heard of a Kneazle before?

Of course I have! But I never realized...I thought he was a bit large for a cat. Not that I've seen him much.

He is. A lot of his distinguishing features are from the Kneazle than the cat.

You could change that, you know.

Like the fact he's large. Right, I've noticed.

...is that a backhanded invitation I hear? Why Granger, I didn't know you cared.

And extremely intelligent.

It's not backhanded, but it was an invitation, yes, and you ought to know I do by now.

I'll believe it when I see him.

That may have been something of a joke. You're at the house then? I suppose I could stop by.

In the dining room, yes, but I can move up to my room shortly. [Make it a little easier on you, Draco.]

All right.

[She makes her way up to her room and by the time Draco arrives, she's sitting on her bed with an armload of cat. And the door's firmly shut.]

[He tries to pop in without being loud, but let's face it, the act's always a bit noisy. However, he arrives soon enough and blinks around the room, eyes settling on girl and cat.] Granger.

[Yeah, nice try. She just smiles at him, stroking her cat.]

Malfoy, meet Crookshanks. Crookshanks, Malfoy.

[The cat merely blinks at him.]

[Just. Staring.]

...any particular reason his face is like that? [It's not even meant as an insult, he's genuinely just curious]

Part of the Kneazle genetics.

[She's watching them both closely.]
