[So it's been a month that Hermione hasn't really come out of her room aside from school and eating. But it's been obvious that she's been preoccupied with something this entire time. [She's... not paying attention right now. Give her a minute or two. She's standing pretty still, focusing on the ball of fire she keeps conjuring between her hands. It looks like she's trying to get it to do something, but it's not doing more than rolling in a ball between her hands right now.]

Merlin! [Eyes wide.] You're Merlin! [The fire goes out. She's too shocked/surprised to concentrate on it.]

[He smiles--though momentarily dismayed by the magic's disappearance.]

Hermione, right? [He spreads his palms and concentrates for a moment. His eyes gloss gold as he conjures a lick of fire similar to what he had seen in her hands. He's attempting to mimic the spell and does an alright job of it. It's not quite as bright, but he has been having a hard time with any elemental magic in Luceti. He has yet to make a pact, after all.

He allows the small ball of fire to sputter and go out, looking up with a grin.]

That's all right. There's still time if you feel like doing it. I'd suggest trying Nala first. Yours is useful all by itself, though.

I have been contacted by one of the spirits. It...woke me up. [He confides, casually.] But I haven't figured out what it wanted, yet.

They can be a little difficult sometimes. Try listening for that spirit for a week or so. Sometimes it just takes a while for them to teach you or decide they like you enough.
