Well it's finally Friday and I'm on my weekend - woot! Now if only I wasn't so brain dead *face palm* This week has just been so draining. I'm kinda thankful that Tuesday my partner in crime will be back to help out with things since I've been putting off some of my other backshop duties because I had too many other things to do and keep on top of this week. Thankfully today went a bit smoother but everyone was a little fried. Starbucks started their week of happy hour frapps and I took my lunch late enough I could go partake, ended up doing a frapp run for the 4 of us that were still working - caffiene and sugar and brain dead lead to an interesting last couple of hours XD
Either way tonight after work I ended up having to go wash my car. When I came home I asked my dad to take a look at the windsheild with me because there were all these spots on it and I didn't know what they were. Apparently the trees at my work really liked my car and got tree sap over the whole thing thanks to some help from our windy afternoons, which meant car wash time. Thankfully my dad went with me to help and it's all pretty and sap free again. Stupid trees. Downside is we have trees around all of our parking spots. I'm going to have to try and pick a better spot for the next few weeks while they're being all sappy.
Also thanks to the wonderful internet I finally got to hear some of the dub voices for Loveless. I have to say I'm kind of happy I didn't upgrade my DVD set. What I've heard of it isn't horrid, I mean Ritsuka kinda makes me cringe and Soubi doesn't have quite the same tone I associate with him, but it definitely isn't hitting the "makes Loyal happy" button. Which is what I was worried about when I heard it was getting released with a dub track but I was hoping it would be okay. Guess it'll kinda get lumped in with how I feel about the Vampire Knight dub track, although that one I can at least sit through - from the audio samples of Loveless I don't think I'd fair that well.
On an anime watching note I have been watching Nabari no Ou lately when I've gone up to bed. I usually watch at least one episode to get my brain to stop thinking about life stuff so I can pass out. I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. I've seen the series in the stores and have always paused to look at it because of the artwork but generally I don't go for the whole ninja thing, with a few exceptions. I've actually been contemplating picking it up since Amazon has been selling it really cheap, but then I remind myself that I just ordered Honey & Clover part 1 and 2 on sale to complete my DVD set (yes I owned part 3 first) *face palm* Retail therapy this week? Not me at all *hides*
I have to admit that last night I was getting a little moody angry about the whole ordeal with TokyoPop closing their doors. Especially when all the company has done is promote the garage sale they're doing in their offices in LA tomorrow to get rid of everything they had backstock wise on books, art, merchandise, etc. They haven't said how their closure will effect their licensing rights for their series - which honestly is all I want to know. Some of my series I think could have a shot at getting picked up by another company, but that can only happen if the rights lapse with the company closing. But on the same note I found myself going through my Amazon wishlist last night and purchasing the books printed by them I'd been holding off buying. Figured it was safer getting them now before they're all out of print and out of stock and used prices go up. Now though I'm trying to contemplate if I want to get any of the Fruits Basket manga as well. I don't think I really want to invest in the whole 23 book run, but I have contemplated getting some of the books that deal with the storylines the anime never did, or at least the last few books where you get to see everyone when the curse breaks. Then I can have my own mixture of series completion between the anime and the select books I buy. That one I haven't decided for sure yet since I do have the guide book but I can see myself getting at least a few maybe in the future.
And for one last random comment before going to bed. Apparently one of my cats is doing psycho hunter cat tonight. Usually she cries a little when hunting a toy and drops it at your feet and is done. But man, tonight it's loud and echoing and going from room to room. *face palm* Gotta love kitties :D This is Loyal dragging herself to bed - night all.
