Well, I know usually my mid week posts are done on Wednesday, but technically today is my mid week since I have two more shifts at work still. Today was my random weekday off in place of Saturday since I'm scheduled to work. Honestly I didn't do anything all that exciting on my day off but it was pretty relaxing. Slept in a few extra hours, spent some time with my kitty while watching anime, finally decided to go downstairs and went out to get myself lunch, then watched more anime before my dad came home. The rest of my evening pretty much went by normally. So yeah, not overly productive but I think I needed the mental health break. Especially when I know work tomorrow is going to be back to writing scripts and templates for the new system I've been getting trained on that launches on Monday.
Today I did finish an anime I started last weekend though, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom. I'm not too sure if anyone else has seen it - doubtful, but I have a few side comments I want to say.
First I have to say this anime was good and roped me in pretty quick considering it was a 26 episode anime and I was watching 3-4 episodes a night when I went to bed at 12:30am or 1 and managed to get up when my alarm went off for work. Definitely serious and honestly really bleak. About the only thing I really don't like, minus the two episodes that were recaps with very small amounts of new information for the story line, is how they handed the storyline with Cal. This afternoon after I finished the anime I looked for some reviews of the last episode and was a little pleased to see some other people weren't thrilled with the wrap up for Cal either. Granted I originally looked online to see people's speculation on the footage from the end credits, but still. I dunno I'm happy that I watched it and I'm contemplating buying the series, already grabbed the first soundtrack cause it has some awesome music, just have some hesitation as well. And I'm really confused why there are figures of Ein but none of Zwei, no equal opportunity apparently.
Couple fandomy tv show related notes though from this week. This weeks Criminal Minds was okay, all I really want to say though is the opening with Morgan and Garcia *hearts* These are the reasons why I love Garcia and am jealous of her at the same time. I really wish I had a loyal supportive friend like Morgan. Now for the kicker, CSI's preview for next week's episode - Lady Heather returns. I am excited cause I love Lady Heather and in turn Melinda Clarke, but at the same time - Lady Heather without Grissom? That just seems weird. Although next week will probably be the first episode all season outside of the episode where Grissom did his very brief cameo I'll actually be a fully active watcher for the show. Most the time I watch CSI while doing other things so it becomes more of a background thing then something I watch every second of.
I do have one geeky iphone picture to share too before I run away. Yesterday when I got home from work I had a package I was waiting for sitting on my desk. The package had this little, well not so little, guy:
Meet Jeero - my first Ugly Doll :D Only had him for a day and I love him. Oddly enough I've seen Ugly Dolls here and there for a long time, I think I started seeing them back when I used to do weekly trips up to Washington, and kind of just took note of them. Before Christmas I found myself looking at them a lot more online, reading the little stories, and decided it was time to get one. I like the fact they aren't "normal" looking and they're just quirky enough for me. After I got him out of the bag he was shipped in last night and hugged him (cause he's definitely big enough for that) I told my parents I might have to get him a companion at one point *face palm* Needless to say Jeero has joined the elite gang of stuffed things that lives on my bed - mostly anime related plushes with a few Disney thrown in and two oddballs, so I think he fits in nicely. My cat wasn't too impressed though last night when I put him on the bed, go figure.
And I think that's all in this post. I should have at least one post tomorrow ;) Maybe two if I get my butt in gear since tomorrow has a few highlights in my geeky world.
