I haven't done a meme in awhile and I thought it was time :) I've actually been debating on doing some of those 30 day meme's, especially when I found one for anime *ponders*
First, I was tagged by
pinkxpiano for the Book Meme
Rules:
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions. well, I personally included the 5th one into those 4
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
6. Tag five people
So technically a manga was closest to me, but it didn't have page numbers and sorry, on a Monday I'm not counting pages. So I picked one of the books in my stack that has page numbers. So slightly cheating but I'm definitely not counting out that many pages.
"A bulky dress or three, several sweaters, and an oversized coat. All these will give you the definition you so desperately desire. Additionally, consider longer skirts and more than a few pairs of tights to bulk up and, dare I say, cover up those witheres pins of yours. For both genders, a former no-no is now all-go - horizontal stripes can be enormously effective for giving the illusion of a figure." - Zombies for Zombies: Advice and Etiquette for the Living Dead by David P. Murphy
Don't really want to tag anyone specifically, if you want to do it by all means please do.
And I also have another meme from
pinkxpiano - this time anime related - woohoo!
RULES:
Reply and I'll give you four fandoms. You then have to make an entry writing about your favorite character from each fandom and why.
Death Note:
As much as I love my bad boy Mello the winner of my favorite Death Note character definitely has to go to Ryuk. He was one of the first things that really caught my attention with the show. Not to mention he just has a wickedly evil sense of humor. And I just love how inhuman Ryuk is being a death god and all...but how utterly human he is as well by having an food obsession - apples :D
Junjo Romantica:
This one is fairly easy for me, Akihiko Usami hands down. In some ways I feel like I shouldn't like him, but he's a writer, devoted, doesn't apologize for who he is, has some of the same fears I do, and is still insecure and human. There are so many times when I'm reading the series that I wish I was Misaki and had someone that cared about me that much. *hearts Akihiko*
D.Gray-Man:
This is a hard show to peg a favorite, cause there are quite a few characters I like, more so now that I've read the manga - when it was just the anime version I had a smaller list of characters that I like. But after reading and watching I think I have to say that Lavi is my top favorite...this majorly shifted after reading the manga. Lavi just really pulls at the heart strings a bit knowing how much he has to fight himself and in a sense kill his heart to do what he's slated to do as a Bookman.
Runner ups are: Kanda, Tyki, Allen, and Tim.
Code Geass:
This is another hard show for me to pick a favorite. Especially because the cast is so big when you look at the scope of both seasons and just yeah. *ponders* I think I'd have to go with Kallen because she was the character that I liked through out the whole run of the show. Other characters I either ended up liking after they had changed or ended up disliking by the end of their storyline in the show. Part of what I really liked in Kallen was the fact she was a strong willed woman character. While she had her moments of dealing with her Zero/Lelouch feelings I still felt she was the strongest woman in the show. And I have noticed, its hard for me to really like some of the girls in the anime series I watch.
