Vacation Swag (AX and a few others) -- Image heavy!!!

Jul 06, 2010 23:14

Please be warned by the subject line, this is an image heavy post, but like I mentioned in my AX post for this year - I took more pictures of swag than the con itself. Almost everything in this post is from the convention, only 3 major things really aren't from the con but I just threw them in pictures when I could. I'll put some explainations or give my Loyal babble with them as always :)

But enough lead in, I'll just jump into picture time.

Teaser:

First up we have 3 of the 6 doujinshi that I bought from AX. These are all for Soul Eater - all Stein & Spirit pairing. I don't really slash too much with this series but these two? Oh god yes. I can see it, not to mention I just like the idea :) I haven't looked at them yet but I have seen an online version of the green covered one *hearts*

And these are the other 3 doujinshi I bought, this time for D.Gray-Man. One is Kanda & Lavi, one is Kanda, and one is Allen. Like with my Soul Eater ones I haven't looked at them yet, but the cover art caught my attention and they all are fairly thick so yay :D The one thing I kinda kicked myself with after the convention was that I forgot to see if there was any Blood+ doujinshi with Soloman and Hagi *pouts* I can't really find much online so I was meaning to look there and just kinda forgot. Although I have to admit when I was at this booth (I've bought from them every year) they were really busy and the guy behind the counter held my D.Gray-Man titles so I could go to the opposite end to look at Soul Eater.

Now these are the only art books I bought this trip around. The first is for No Money (yaoi series) that I passed on buying when I was in San Francisco and regretted when I got home and started reading the manga series (fan translated since it's not out here). Up to that point I'd only seen the anime and was unsure of getting the book. But yeah...pretty pretty art. The other book is a Soul Eater Postcard book. Each postcard has promotional art for the anime - which honestly between the manga and anime I like the anime artwork better.

This is batch one of the new yaoi books I bought. I found a booth that was selling all their manga for $5 a piece and had a big yaoi section. Personally $5 for yaoi instead of the $13 they all are now - sweet!! So yeah I bought quite a few :) And the booth I was at gave free pencil boards for every 3 books you bought, so I got a couple of those as well (will be pictured later).

And the other yaoi books I bought from the $5 booth. I was really excited to get Allure (last one on the right) cause it's really hard to find.

This has more AX goodies, two fan badges (by some artists that I bought from last year as well) and the one Soul Eater Death the Kid item I found and bought. The keychain has Death the Kid along with his weapons Liz and Patti. Now the fan badges are for Soul Eater (far left) and then D.Gray-Man (Tyki is the bad guy that's pictured on it) :) When I saw the fan badge girls would be there again I knew I would be coming home with a couple to go with my xxxHolic and Loveless ones from last year :D

Okay so the DVDs in this picture are not from AX, I actually bought them at Fry's when we stopped there (we went to two different stores and I got one set from each store). Honey & Clover Set 3 which is the complete second season and Spice & Wolf Season 1. The CD I bought at AX, its one of the X soundtracks - which I already have but not officially...now I do :)

Now these are some of my artist alley finds. Both are by the same artist and are on 8x10 paper. The one on the left is Kanda from D.Gray-man and the one on the right is Stein from Soul Eater. It was funny when I bought these from the artist too cause she was surprised she only had one left of each after the ones she gave me. I really wanted to tell her if you draw hot guys well they are bound to go fast ;)

Close up of Stein :D Can you tell he's my favorite from Soul Eater yet?

And a close up of Kanda.

These are my free pencil boards I got for buying my yaoi books. The one on the left I have no idea what it's from but the picture was pretty. The one on the right is Cardcaptor Sakura - which is Clamp so I know who everyone is :)

More art. The guy on the left was at AX last year as well (and I bought quite a few prints from him that year) but this year I only bought two from him :) The post card on the right is for Honey & Clover...except I have no idea where I got it from. When I was going through everything after the convention it just happened to be there, go figure.

The other print I got from the guy above.

This is my other purchase that is not from AX that will be in this post. We went to one mall while I was down there and there was a Tokyo themed store. I was looking around and decided to get myself a cute little bento set :) All matching colors even. I got the bag, a clear top one level bento, a travel set with fork/spoon/mini-chop sticks, and a travel set with full sized chop sticks. I don't really cook often but I figure I can use it for something for lunch every now and then. And it was cute...and cheap :D If I really like it I have people that live down there I could probably ask to go get me a few more pieces for my set.

Okay...last thing that isn't AX related, I bought this little Stein figure off eBay before my vacation and he actually showed up the night before I went out of town :D I was really hoping to find some of these or the trading arts figures for Soul Eater at the convention but no luck. However I'm just glad I have some kind of Stein figure, even if this one is really small.

And back to AX purchases :) This is a Claymore figure that I'd hoped to get when I bought some blind boxes at WonderCon back in April. At AX though I bought this from a booth where I know what figure I'm getting. This is Priscilla, who is the main baddy in the anime.

I bought this figure from the same booth as the one above, Kanda from D.Gray-Man. I've wanted his figure to go with my other D.Gray-Man figures for awhile but I hadn't wanted to order him offline (the booth is actually a place I order from online every now and then) so I was glad to see they brought him to the convention.

After getting those two figures where I knew what I was getting I did buy some "blind box" figure purchases. All for Code Geass. I bought a couple of the Prop Plus Petits in one box I got Anya in her school uniform - which I haven't unwrapped yet because I'm not a huge Anya fan so I might not keep her.

And I got Lelouch as Zero :D Which actually made me really happy. Before I left for AX I was looking at all my Code Geass figures and realized I never did get anything with Lelouch as Zero. Now I don't have to worry.

The other blind box figures I bought for Code Geass were these. They're fairly new and I was hoping to get Emperor Lelouch and Suzaku...I ended up getting Suzaku (pictured) and Anya *head desk* But the merchant I was at was really cool and said if I opened them at the booth and didn't like one I got I could trade it for a display figure (they had two open still in plastic). When I saw Anya I swapped it for CC (my other choice was Rolo). So I was pretty happy with that :) I thanked the guy who sold them to me for giving that option for the trade. And now that the figures are home and put together I have to say - they are really heavy and worth the cash.

These are the other two figures that I bought. Kallen from Code Geass - and yes...kind of a sexy figure but the other Kallen figure I wanted was far too much money so I settled on this one. And Grell from Kuroshitsuji. Now...let me just say Grell isn't always my favorite character from Kuroshitsuji, I really like Sebastian out of everyone. I saw Sebastian's figure and wow what a disappointment. He's not even in his butler outfit and just...yeah :( I wasn't impressed. I also saw Ceil but saw no reason having him and not Sebastian. Then I really looked at Grell and LOVED his figure. Go figure.

Close up of him in the box.

And Grell in all his glory out of the box. Now that I have him open and put together (easiest figure I bought to put together, just had to put him on his base and give him his chainsaw) I have no idea where I'm going to display him XD I'll have to give that a bit of thought.

Kallen put together. And she came with an art card of the picture that inspired the figure - which was a nice surprise since I didn't expect that at all.

Speaking of displaying here are my big head Code Geass figures on my DVD shelf where they will be living for now :)

And Priscilla is with Theresa by my Claymore set on the same DVD shelf.

Now we get to the final things from AX, all are from the artist alley and all range between 11x14 and 11x17. For the ride home they were put in a hard poster tube so they are all kinda curly. I apologize in advance for the remotes holding them flat for photos. I do plan on framing them all so the curl factor will go away at one point :)

First up we have this beautiful picture of Fai (Tsubasa).

And this print is by the same artist that did Fai. When I was looking at her booth I asked her what this one was from and her answer was these are her original characters. I don't know their names but they sure are pretty...so I brought them home.

This is a different artist and the print is of Tyki from D.Gray-Man. The artist was a lot of fun to talk to cause I originally saw this on a book mark and told her "please tell me you have this bigger." She laughed and started talking to me about Tyki cause most people don't like him but she does :D So she was a lot of fun.

And this Loveless print is by the same artist that did Tyki (above).

And my final art print is Sebastian and Ceil from Kuroshitsuji - also done by a different artist than the previous four :)

With that picture that's the end of my vacation swag. But I did take a geek picture while I was taking pictures of my DVD shelf. The shelf above my anime shelf downstairs has become the crime shelf...so I thought this was cute ;)

NCIS, Criminal Minds, and CSI. I wonder if someone would be scared just seeing that as a first impression of someone, especially with Dexter peeking out over the top ;)

If anyone got down this far - I thank you *snuggles*

And I think that's my last post for tonight :) Unfortunately work calls tomorrow...I'm just glad it's only 3 days til the weekend. Even if two of them are long.

kuroshitsuji, photos, d.gray-man, criminal minds, code geass, csi, ax, tsubasa, soul eater, anime
