TV show thoughts

Jan 16, 2007 02:38

I've been meaning to make a post here for awhile on the TV shows I've been watching since the Fall 2006 seasons started up. Guess I should finally get around to that before they all start coming back.

Most of my thoughts will be relatively short but I'll put each show under a cut for two reasons:

1. To avoid spoiling anyone (SPOILERS WILL BE IN THIS!)
and 2. To avoid annoying people with things not their fandom.

So that said, time to get into it.

CSI Season 7: Okay everyone knows I LOVE CSI - if you don't that means you never really read my journal. But that said this season has been feeling a little off.

I wasn't too impressed at the beginning of the season with the weird arch that happened with Catherine. I mean Catherine getting 'raped' and that whole thing with Lindsey (yet another actress playing her) seemed out of line and didn't really progress anything. Sam getting killed on screen was something that, ironically enough, I called before the episode came on. Just the fact that if they ever kill him they'd have to actually show him die on screen - not just say he died or was killed.

The first episode of the season that really got me was "Toe Tags." For those that don't know which one that is it's the one where you get the tale of the four dead bodies from their POV rather then the CSI teams at first. It was odd and quirky and funny and I loved it (Nevada Chainsaw Massacre!!!). After that the only other story archs I'm really enjoying is Greg's (although OMG I want to hug him!) and I like the miniture killer (I'm happy in the last episode Grissom was delivered another one cause I was PISSED when they had the ep where the 'killer' shot himself).

Grissom leaving the show (while I know the reason that they made the storyline, so William Petersen could do the stage play he wanted to) is something I think that needed to be shown. The job is wearing and effecting Grissom. I think at 7 years that it was good to show how someone can get really burned out doing that kind of work day in and day out. So I think it's good...and I'm not just saying that cause Liev will now be on the show as the dreaded "Keppler" figure.

The Grissom/Sara shit...could really do without the little subtle 'cutesy' bits they've done. I was kind of cheering in the "Leaving Las Vegas" episode when you could tell that Sara didn't want Grissom to leave and he was leaving anyways. LOVED that.

I'm really hoping the season picks up after this cause yeah. No idea what the hell they're doing in a lot of aspects.

Prison Break Season 2: Watching the whole first season on DVD definitely spoiled me. I'm so frustrated waiting week to week (or months to months as it might be) and dealing with commerical breaks. That's the first thing I really noticed. After that I have to say that while I know the show is about Michael and Linc I really wish that the writers would, on occasion, go back to some of the other characters. I mean personally - I want to know if Haywire built his raft or not. Yes I know it's silly but damnit >.< I want to know! *g*

I'm still sad that Abruzzi was killed first in the show for the escapees. I mean I get why they did it, cause he was the like-able villian, but still. When the season started I was hoping for another show down with Abruzzi and T-Bag personally before they killed off anyone :P

Bellick. OMG! *tears out hair* I hate the man, I want to get that straight but Jesus Christ how stupid is this man?!?!? I think he kind of deserves what he's getting (getting locked up in Fox River) but at the same time it annoys me that I KNOW how to get him off on the charge of murder and he can't even think to ask for a different attorney :P That really annoys me. Cause I mean, how can you get charged for murder of someone that was brought into the hospital just after you checked out of the hospital. You know, that means you were...hmmm AT the hospital as a patient when the murder was comitted. Come on!

Mahone, Mahone, Mahone. I really liked the actor better on Invasion but I was happy he was able to get another TV show after Invasion was canned. And his character is rather interesting. However, I found him more interesting considering he's the only 'villian' in the show that got his own musical theme. And it's a rather playful kind of sinister one. So I've been a bit drawn to him cause of that. Will be interesting to see if he's dead or not come next week.

I don't care what people say - I love Michael/Sara *hearts*

And Linc...well Dominic's always pretty *g*

Heroes Season 1: All I will say is the show is interesting. But what keeps me watching is Hiro and his buddy. I LOVE them!!! I want to just cuddle Hiro (Hiro face >_< ) *g*

Claire and Isaac are cool. I have some speculation on why Peter might be going *BOOM* come the end of the season.

And I'm not even touching the gay-now not gay buddy of Claire's :P

Faceless: Thanks to a lovely member on bean_daily I have the first episode of this on my computer. I haven't watched it yet, mainly cause I keep forgetting that I have it *face palm* But I just read an article (you can find here) mentioning Sean Bean pulling out of the show. Now while that kind of disappoints me since I was hoping to see a weekly dose of him, I can completely understand his reasoning. And this is all safe to say if the article/quotes are truth. Cause you know...I HATE censorship. I hate it in general but the USA is getting SO bad with it!

I don't want to get going on a soap box so I'm just going to leave it at that. It sucks - I agree with him - end topic.

NCIS Season 2: Yes you read that right, season 2. That means DO NOT SPOIL ME FOR SEASONS 3 AND 4!!! I just figured this could get tacked on at the end :) I bought this for myself right after Christmas and my thoughts are much the same from the first season to the second season. Abby completely fucking rocks (hello girl crush!) and Ducky is awesome. They keep me watching the show. The cases...ehh not so much.

And that's all for now folks :)

prison break, csi, ncis
