Okay, so even though I did one of these about a month ago now...well almost a month, it seems that I've let it slack a little too long :P So like my last movie review this is going to be kind of a massive movie review. Lots of things I've seen in theaters (most of which are coming onto DVD soon) or things I've been renting. And hey - like I've

THE HOLIDAY- lovely movie that I went to see twice and plus the characters were so good. I'm actually glad you liked it. I dreaded you to say it was shite. Kate and Jack were so adorkable weren't they? And Jude's character with his children. <3
it was such a feel good movie that I could relate to.
also the score was lovely.
NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: Big highlight laughter moment for me had to be Jed and Octavius letting tire air out scene. LMAO.
CRANK: I actually hated. My mum actually bought the dvd cuz she loves Jason after The Transporter. (Personally, I liked him better in Lock, Stock, Two Smoking Barrels). But frankly, I was so disappointed with CRANK, I literally threw the dvd on the wall. I just thought it was boring. But that's just me, eh.
THE ILLUSIONIST- i was excited about this cuz the trailer looked promising and also cuz Norton is in it. But nay from you then? The Illusionist nothing more than a disillusionment? (pun intended).
THE COVENANT: Grrr movie for me cuz it was a lost cause. But I only saw it for the hot guys *whistles* but everything was annoying from the girl, to lack of character depth and development, to a too long fight sequence. I mean hello? Darkling? Explain. but I did like the car but that doesn't help does it. hehe.
THE DESCENT- was a bigger disappointment than THE CAVE for me. Plain annoying people too. I wonder if DOG SOLDIERS any better? have you seen it? Its by the same director and I've been seriously been contemplating buying it.
HAVEN: as an Orlando fangirl *whips hand up like Hermione* this wasn't as disappointing. sure he proved critics wrong by really acting but it's too bad they don't pay attention. didn't really hold my attention but maybe I need to watch it carefully again.
THE RETURN: I can now watch this without reservation cuz I dreaded another THE GRUDGE fiasco. even though, I too love SMG!
Now I feel guilty for not watching this in the cinema cuz my sister told me what you said. need to buy it now.
OH and btw, isn't M. Night SHYMALAN'S name spelled with an L and not 'i' as you spelt.
n before I annoy you by my long comment, I thank you for the lovely reviews! i look forward to
many more.

Thanks for the spelling of Shymalan's name. I fixed it when I got your comment back and then looked in my guide book from work again. Glad to know the editors of that actually check things :P Cause that's where I was getting the spelling cause I didn't want to go online and look up the names I knew in my head but didn't know how to spell. I pointed that out to a few people at my company and they couldn't believe we had an error like that - lol.
LOL so you threw Crank against the wall? That would be amusing to see I think ;) Nothing wrong disliking it. I really think part of why I liked it was because I was expecting to hate it and it made me laugh. I still giggle a lot at work about the bouncing dead bit at the end of the movie. One of the regular customers I have is actually a Haz-Mat guy and said how that wouldn't happen, although from something like that he would be able to find blood at least six floors up on the glass windows and such. But it still makes me giggle cause I'm just messed up like that ;)
The Illusionist...is just slow. To me I wasn't expecting to have this really slow period piece romantic love story of a movie. I was hoping it would be more about the illusions and magic. At my work I am the minority though cause all my co-workers really liked the movie. I just thinkt he previews had me expecting something other then what the movie was. That and out of that and The Prestige that's the one I was more interested in ;)
I have seen parts of Dog Soldiers, I've never fully sat down and watched it though. My dad bought it cause he really enjoyed it, if I can find it among the thousands of DVDs we have in the house I'll try and watch it so I can actually give you an opinion :)
The Return...yeah I can see you not wanting to go cause of The Grudge. Like I said the beginning the movie is really not sure what it's doing. It bounces between mystery and supernatural a lot before finally going with the more mystery side. If you do buy or rent it when it comes out at the end of the month just give it that first half hour to really find it's footing. That's the one downfall for it and I think why it didn't get good reviews. People always want things to start up and get to things fast they don't give movies a shot, if that makes sense. I'm looking forward to seeing what extras get put on the DVD when it comes in at my work cause I'm hoping the first half hour might have just gotten chopped a bit too and that's why it was so touch and go.
The Holiday *hearts* I really liked that movie and am so buying it when it comes out. I actually thought it was funny that you were dreading that I would say it was crap :) I know it's not a typical 'me' movie, I think I surprised the hell out of my mom when I said I wanted to go and see it while it was in theaters but I'm glad that I did :) Kate and Jack were definitely adorkable in the movie. I loved the fact that Jack was a score writer cause it was just so not what I picture him as and I got all happy geeky when he was rambling about score music when he first met Kate's character. Jude with the children (three musketeers) was so cute! I really liked the fact that all the women calling him were his daughters :D Oh and I have my score now *hearts* I might up load something if my computer plays nice when I start trying to do some score reviews as well as movie reviews.
it was such a feel good movie that I could relate to.
Yes! I could relate to that movie on so many levels. Something I definitely can't tell some of my real life friends :P
And wow - okay, this is now me shutting up :P Sorry for me rambling *hides*

I can't believe you bought the score for THE HOLIDAY already. I need to save up and buy it next month cuz I exceeded my new online budget buying a few collectible items on ebay.
but I did buy my very own dvd of it. hehe. I'm a sap!
I finally saw The Illusionist and I totally agree that it was so slow that I got bored.

Aww nice :D Don't feel too sappy, I'm going to buy it when it comes out *g* And I know people are going to look at me weird. Although, I get that anyways since I own some kid cartoons on DVD and then have God knows how many horror flicks ;)
Yay! Finally someone that agrees with me on The Illusionist. Most of my co-workers love it and I just cringe when they recommend it to people. I try and hide when customers ask me about it but I'm honest and say I didn't like it, but everyone else at the store did.
