Grad Special -- take 2

Jul 27, 2006 01:27

Again I was hoping to post this a little earlier than I actually am, but hey...this is what summers are for :)

I just wanted to say that as of today I'm officially enrolled in a graduate level class :) *cheers*

It was a bit of a hassle to get there but I did it :D

This afternoon I went and got my tetanus shot, got the paper work I needed from the clinc, paid for the shot ($5 - MUCH cheaper than I thought it would be), and took it to the admissions and records office on campus. Now before I left I specifically asked the person if I could go and register for classes, the girl told me yes - that she took the hold off and everything was fine. So I got home, logged into the server and was told I wasn't a current student. *blinks*

I ended up calling the admissions and records office right away complaining that I was just down there and was told everything was fine. The girl that took my call told me my graduate special was still pending and sounded shocked when I told her I was only told my tetanus was the problem/cause of the admissions hold I'd just taken care of. She put me on hold for a long time before coming back to explain I'd applied before I graduated and they needed a copy of my transcript showing I'd actually graduated. *blinks* I was a little dumb-founded at this point but held my own and told her that I was advised to apply before graduation and asked if I really needed to go down to their office, get officially transcripts, and hand them back to their office. She asked what I meant and I told her I graduated from the university in May, aka same one I'm applying for the graduate special at. I was put on hold, again, and when she came back she told me she'd approved my application and everything would be fine. She apologized and said usually they catch the graduating students and auto-approve them but missed me for some reason.

I won't say what I want to about that cause all that matters is I'm registered for my poetry class finally :) I'm keeping up the mantra that I got in so I hopefully will stop thinking about the fact that to take 1 graduate class it costs about half my tuition from last semester taking 3 under grad classes and that it's all due in less than a month. Cause yeah...I'm in the class!
