Important things first. I'll be taking a short break and traveling to Dissimulo with Shinjiro soon. This means both Cafe Alpha and The Northern Lights bar will be closed for the duration of our absence ( Read more... )

Yes, one offers for the Tsukimi festival while praying for an abundant harvest. Sometimes other items from harvest can be offered as well but it's traditional to make dango and eat it while observing the full moon.

It's a Japanese holiday I observed and celebrated during my stay in Japan. The young miss enjoyed it and Eirin-sensei observed it as well when she was here. It's important tome to continue celebrating it. I have many things to be grateful to the moon for... even if the moon here is not the same as theirs.

Yeah? What would be a good way to celebrate with Japan do you think? You too of course.

Ah, well... Japan-san is probably preparing for it, I assume. You could simply enjoy dango with him or bring him something to offer.

There is a game some of the children play where you find as many round objects as possible. The full circle represents the moon and so, things that resemble the moon are often associated with on this holiday.

Short poems relating to the moon are sometimes read as well. Those who are able to sometimes go someplace high or over water to see the moon's reflection.

[ignoring that last bit as politely as possible.]

Dango and something to offer.

Round objects? Like balls or something?

Hah... Okay! Thanks Cube! Is that what you're doing for it?

Yes, offerings are usually harvest-related but perhaps Japan-san will understand if that can't be done in a world like this.

Balls, disks, coins, buttons, cookies... anything round.

I will simply be viewing the moon and sharing dango with others this evening. I hadn't had much time to prepare anything else.

Eh, there's edible ferns and stuff. I'll find something.

All right, I can do that.

Do you want me to bring you round things too? Oh but you're going with Shinji to Dissimulo, right?

Ah, yes! That might do well.

Oh, no. Flandre-chan will find enough on her own, I rather her find them. She gets rather hyper during the full moon and that should help a little.

Not tonight, but soon we're heading to Dissimulo. The train is working so that will help a lot. It looks as though we'll even have a place to stay where the rabbits and Bat-san can be safe as well. Though, I wonder if I'm more excited about this than Shinjiro-san...

Understood.

Yeah, I never thought Shinji would leave the bar for more than a couple of days at best, eh?

I believe a little time away may help him. We've both lost so many friends and family recently, but I think it's taking more of a toll on him than I. [Possibly because Cube has Flandre still] So a little vacation for him may do some good.

[Thinking of it as a vacation makes Cube blush a little. It's strange to think of doing such a thing because he was never allowed to before coming to discedo.]

N-Not that I am t-taking a vacation. I-I'm simply accompanying Shinjiro-san.

[Actually, Shinji has been to Dissimulo before but Cube isn't aware of all the details]

Yes, Anemone-chan...

[He pauses before nodding]

Understood. I'll watch over him well.

[Canine senses kicking in.]
