[Friend + Family Lock | 50% Hackable]

I understand I may have asked this of you personally once before. However, It's been a while and I've been curious about what my friends' worlds are like. What sort of place is it? Do you live in a city, or a small town, or away from most people? Does magic exist there? What's your daily life like and/or what ( Read more... )

My world has less technology than this one, but we still manage to get around quite easily. I live in the Southern Air Temple, one of the two main male temples of the Air Nomads. There, I helped raised the boys and took care of the temple grounds and bison. It's high up in the mountains, so we only get visits from other Air Nomads on their flying bison.

We have a form of magic, I suppose you could call it--bending, or the control of an element. It is possible to bend a total of four elements--Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. Those who have the talent can only bend one of the four, except for the Avatar, the bridge between the Spirit and Physical worlds. Only he--or she--has this distinction. Myself--well, I am an Airbender!

As for my everyday life, it is the life that most monks lead. Although we are more secular, and don't pray like I've heard others mention of Buddhist monks. We do, however, meditate and respect all life. When we are adults of a certain age--younger than myself and older than Aang--we travel the world on our bison.

... If I could bring someone from this world to mine, it would definitely be to the Southern Air Temple. The boys would be fascinated by Meryl's hair!

[He pauses for a moment, then sounds amused.]

I hope that answers some of your questions...?

[Big smile as he tries to imagine it all for himself]

That truely does answer all my questions...

[A sigh, though]

Except...

What is the land like near the Southern Air Temple, Gyatso-san, if you don't mind me asking further?

We're in the mountains. So it is up very high, and there is not much vegetation on the steeper parts. We do have all the seasons, but summer is never very hot, and the winter is fairly cold. We can still grow gardens, however, and rely on them for most of our food.

Mountains are beautiful, though. I've not lived upon one but with Master Gunbard, We lived upon a hill at the base of mountains, outside a lake. it was very serene and calming.

I suppose being high upon a mountain would help with focusing on air bending, correct?

They are beautiful. Especially if you are awake as the sun rises! It is a sight that not everyone knows how to appreciate.

... It makes it a bit harder, actually. The air is thinner up there, so there's less to move, and it's harder to make the same amount of force that you would in the valleys. But it is very good training!

I didn't think about that. However, training is good, though.

I'd love to see the rising sun upon the mountain tops, Gyatso-sama...

[Cube hopes someday he will be able to]

It builds character.

If you ever have a chance, I will gladly wake you up in time to witness it.

I want to visit others' worlds...

So...

Maybe...

.... maybe Gyatso-sama and I can watch the sunrise upon the mountains in his home world...
