oh simple thing, where have you gone?

I saw Polanski's Oliver Twist today. The little boy who played Oliver was - my god, it's hard to describe the aura he gave off. Very innocent and virtuous and melancholic. He'd make a good Felix, *nudges* lostsailors. I liked the film a lot, overall, but thought the hanging scene was a little too... quiet? underplayed? subdued? I like how his throwing of the anchor ropes into the water kind of foreshadowed his doom, though.

*ahem* And the MAJOR problem I had was with "the artful dodger." He seemed too fidgety and his hands were kind of awkward throughout the movie. I don't know, I've never read the book, is he supposed to be like that? I don't think so. I mean, being the "artful dodger" is epitome of suave and cool, right? Really need to read that book.

After Oliver Twist I saw this really, really, really strange movie, Delicatessen. The movie's set in the post-apocalyptic world, where food is scarce and the "outside" is full of dangers. So these group of people live in an apartment building above a butchershop (delicatessen), but since food is scarce the butcher (tenant) kills people at night and uses them as meat.

This is how the movie starts, with a guy trying to escape his butchered fate, but fails and KCHT, he's dead. Then along comes Louison, ex-clown whose partner (an ape), Livingstone, was eaten by random people. So he quit his job and came to this little tenement building. LITTLE DOES HE KNOW he is the prime candidate as the next meat source. But the butcher's daughter, who'd eschewed her father's love, comes to the rescue, along with strange coincidences that go seriously wrong from the strange neighbours.

OK. Now am off to read Zits and go to Hartford tomorrow morning to de-alienize myself.

I need to file down my molars, or something. They're really sharp around the edges and hurting the insides of my mouth. Shall I see the dentist about this?

I also need to STOP PLAYING HORSELAND.
