Okay, so this is a day too early, but as I've no idea whether I'll have an access to Internet on 6th I'm now posting this here. Based on the
6/6/6 challenge -- where did Adam originally come from? Silly though it may be, this is the first idea that came into my mind.
Title: The Sound of His Wings
Characters: Adam, Lucifer, Ligur, Somebody
Rating: PG at most
It was dark, and there were no stars.
Wham.
It was almost silent. Only the sound of great, mighty wings could be heard.
Wham.
Another sound joined the wings as a child cried. However, though it was the cry of an infant, the very same that was heard all around the world at any given moment, echoing from sterile hospital rooms to forgotten huts shaped from clay, it was old. It was all those cries together, from the dawn of time to the end of the world, the end that was yet to come but hurried nearer with every beat of the wings.
Wham.
The creature did not speak, nor did he make any other kind of sound as he carried his precious load. Safe within his gentle hold lay the Adversary, Destroeyr of Kings, Angel of the Bottomless Pit, Great Beast that is called Dragon, Prince of This World, Father of Lies, Spawn of Satan, and Lord of Darkness, who would also be known as the Antichrist.
Wham.
He hurried through the darkness, the baby's cry now forgotten, and a thousand million stars were born, lived, and died away while his wings beat only once.
Wham.
Humans had stories of him, old mythologies that they did not believe anymore. They called those children's tales, completely forgetting that there is always some truth in every tale. They forgot on purpose, for they were afraid.
Wham.
He was not the kind angel of stories and paintings. He wasn't the Angel of Doom that was so popular at times. Instead, he was something so mighty, so incredible, that even those who told of him did not believe him to be true. Again, they were afraid, since his mere existence brought to question everything they were, everything they thought they knew. He defied their entire world.
Wham.
Nobody knew where he had come from, whether he'd been created or whether he just Was. They did know, however, that he had been there as long as there had been life -- and he would be there until the end of the world.
Wham.
The baby was quiet now, looking around, seeing the new stars twinkling into existence and hearing the silence of absolute nothingness. An exploding star was reflected in the bright blue eyes, and a small smile formed onto the rosy lips.
Wham.
The child looked up, at him. The only thing reflecting in the blue eyes was darkness.
Wham.
He passed an entire galaxy with one beat of his wings. The endless stars could not even combined illuminate the ink-black feathers.
Wham.
As he flew, time flew by, time he had seen over and over again, from the moment it had begun through aeons unseen. He flew, nearing his destination, and the end of time drew near. The End of All was about to come, and it was on the palm of the child he held.
Wham.
He was great, incredible, magnificent. Nobody who had seen him could deny his brilliance. He was so great, in fact, that as Duke Ligur kneeled before his lord, trembling in uncontrollable fear, he actually managed to overcome his terror for a fleeting second to steal a glance at him as he made to land.
Wham.
He knew who -- and what -- the child he had carried was, and he knew what this child would cause. However, he did not care as he carefully placed the child into its rightful father's arms, did not think about the inevitable consequences as the trembling demon was given a task that would bring forth the End.
Wham.
He turned and left, not saying a word, the air current born from the beat of his wings daring to cause the golden locks of the Morningstar to twirl through the air. Not looking back, he returned to his home unknown, a place only he and the Creator knew the true nature of.
Wham.
Still almost dying of fear, Duke Ligur stole another glance at the magnificent creature as it left on its way. Never before had he seen something so incredible, so fascinating.
Wham.
Ligur hadn't even known storks could be black.
