A delurk with ficcage

Apr 15, 2006 18:01

So I've been lurking around here for a few months (insert joke involving Hastur and/or Ligur here) and decided to actually post. Mostly because I've actually finished a fic. I'm currently working on something like four and it's very hard to just pick one and finish it off. And I procrastinate. And I've got so many plot bunnies floating around in my ( Read more... )

1. Thank you! I stole the art from this fabulous online comic (www.dominic-deegan.net) that I plug at any opportunity because it's so great. Absolutely hilarious and touching at turns. Honestly, if you liked the humor of GO, I think you'd like this comic.

And your icon is cool, too. I love that show.

2. *grin* Glad you enjoyed reading it.

XD Crowley should be glad they're speaking English. In Finnish, St. George is called Pyhä Yrjö -- and "yrjö" just happens to be an euphemism for "puke".

Anyway, it's good. I can so see this happening.

*falls over laughing* Poor Crowley! He must hate going to Finland.

Thank you for enjoying the story! (and for commenting :D) And even better that it seems plausible.

Very fun! Loved the idea of them being George & the Dragon -- if you were someday tempted to expand upon the idea, I love to "see" the actual "battle". Epic, I'm sure. ;-]

And that was a great way to delurk -- I hope you'll eventually be posting those others you hinted at?

Eventually.... When I can get a leash on my muse and make it work when it's supposed to. *facepalm*

Glad you liked the story!

The story of St. George and the Dragon is a rather old one, and kind of typical. Heroic knight defeats a dragon and saves the girl the dragon was about to eat. Later on, they (whoever 'they' is in this case) made him a saint and it got religious overtones. Like the dragon resembled satan, etc. which rather explains why most art of St. George and the dragon look rather a lot like the art of the archangel Michael defeating lucifer in his serpent form.

I guess it goes to show that very few stories are actually original. XP

So funny. And really a perfect story for the two of them to fit into. I love the idea of Aziraphale getting to be the hero (I'm sure he was thouroughly embarrassed at that). I agree with above comments too, it would be really fun to read the battle if you ever get inspired ;)
