Well, speaking only for myself and with the caveat that I'm not very prolific, I would *love* to have someone like you point out the unintentional Americanisms in my fics. I think capturing the proper colloquialisms in speech is very important for trying to be true to the source material and the sense of the character.
In linking paragraphs I think it depends on a) point of view--a story from an omniscient point of view wouldn't necessarily be as dependent on using proper Britishisms--and b) the interpretability of the phrase, which is a much more individual determination. (For example, if I wrote that Crowley dragged Aziraphale to go watch "The Professional," some of the non-US readers here might know I meant "Leon," and some might not, so I'd have to decide which title to use and whether to put the other title in an author's note or a footnote or find some other way of letting my reading public know which film I meant.)
But since I prefer English stories with genuine English phrases, spellings, and whatnot (I have been known to sneak those extra "u"s in my normal writing), please feel free to comment on my sneaky Americanisms to your heart's content. If nothing else, it should satisfy my inner ling nerd.
