7 Things
Comment to this post, and I will list seven things I want you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your journal. Other people can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.
So here are the things he asked me to talk about:
New Jersey: Lived fifty-two of my fifty-four years in the same county in South(ern New) Jersey. The county where I live, Gloucester, is pretty centrally located in the Mid-Atlantic region. In less than 3 hours I can be in New York City, the Pocono Mountains or Washington D.C. I'm less than an hour from Philly with its history, entertainment and top-notch medical facilities.
New York City: Basically where I spend ~8 hours a day for work. Once you understand the numbering system for the streets in Manhattan it is pretty easy to find your way around. Surprisingly if you know where to go you can find yourself surrounded in very undeveloped areas in the city. One such place is City Island in the Bronx. It has the feeling of a New England seaside village, like that of the fictional Cabot Cove. Pelham Park is another area of the Bronx that is the same way. Of course the variety of the city does make it interesting.
Puppets: I love the fact that they let me interact with the general public in a very silly way. :=3 People tend to love puppets and they will concentrate so much on the puppet that they forget that I'm there. Shere Conrad, the tiger, is one everyone loves. People have told me that I make him "come alive" with that way I work his muzzle and his general movements. One thing they find amazing is that Shere can follow someone while I'm looking in a different direction. That's the nice thing of having great peripheral vision. ;=3
Your Favorite Novel: I don't think I really have a favorite fiction novel. Born Free would be my favorite non-fiction novel. I tend to read reference and research materials. of course the mlti-author story that I'm part of ranks up there; especially Kamau's Chufelis. :=3
Music: I'll listen to anything, but HipHop/Rap. I tend towards "true" Classic Rock ('50s and '60s), Classical (Mozart, Chopin, ect.) and light Jazz. As anyone who has been to the den knows you will probably find Christmas music in the CD player at any given time. :=3
Art Shows: Other than the ones at cons I think I've been to one and that was only because it was in Philly and featured a furry artist. So I don't think I can really comment of art shows other to say I know what I like. :=/
Ghosts: I believe there is more to this "plane" than we know, so I don't discount the idea of ghosts totally. There have been some unexplained phenomenon that I have witnessed, or have knowledge of, that cannot be explained away with classic science or other mundane answers. The "man upstairs" has not told us everything, and we still have a lot of learning to do.
