This isn't to say that my weekend was terrible. It was just tiring.
Interviews for the RA position this weekend-- a four hour long group one on Saturday, and a formal 30 minute one today. Yeah, I was all dressed up and had to walk across campus in nice shoes and pants and get strange looks from people in sweats because IT WAS FREAKING COLD AND WINDY, WTF WEATHER (apparently there's a cold front and nobody knew about it. I saw girls in t-shirts, shorts and flipflops today while I was wearing my black trenchcoat) and yeah. Yesterday went pretty well, I think, and hopefully today did too. They just asked me some stock questions and made notes about my responses and ideas. I'll know in about a week whether or not I got the job. Mom's been keeping on me about jobs for next year and when we finished talking today, she said something that I agreed with but hadn't necessarily thought about-- "I hope you get the job that's best for you, whether it's the RA thing or not." So that made me feel good. (Also, we didn't argue during our conversation, which was also nice.)
Just finished Madame Bovary. Huh. It was rather annoying to have 15 more pages of book after the title character died, but whatever. I still like the book more than most that I've read for class. Now to write a response paper for tomorrow! Joy! Yeah, I got absolutely nothing done last night as far as work is concerned. Actually, as far as anything is concerned, really. I talked with Liz, and my cast of KoE made noises in my brain, but no official writing happened. Liz was making noises about Gideon/Cleo and I tried to go back and read their scenes objectively. I can't. I tried, though. (And I'm fighting that chemistry hard.)
Anyway, all of this amounts to not sleeping in/for more than 12 hours at a time as I've become accustomed to for my weekends, and leaving all my homework until now, as always. Good times. [/more sarcasm]
