So, Kiah dressed me up in skinny black jeans, a gold belt to match my necklace, high black heels and lots of makeup. A tasteful amount of lots, I mean, because it's dark and I don't wear makeup on a regular basis... anyway. I looked hot, rockin' and all kinds of bad ass. :D
Reggie's was packed, we were getting jostled around trying to dance on the floor while people have beer in hand. I got outside to try and, well, breathe around one. I'm exhausted, my feet are KILLING ME because the shoes are a little too big and, oh, right, I never wear heels ever.
Anyway, so there was a band playing in Reggie's (name to be disclosed later, as I don't know who they are but Steph should) and up until then they were just alright, nothing special and a little more than drunk. The best part of the night had been when they took a break and let the DJ spin some rap musaks, like
Paper Planes. I think I heard them play Shot Through The Heart while we were airing out outside, so we come back about the same time they do and I sit on the edge of the pool table (and suddenly I feel LOTS better because my feet are happy) to watch the band.
Then... they start a crazy good setlist. Like...
See You Again - Miley Cyrus (This is my jam and I'm not ashamed to say it; because it represents one of the most fantastic car rides I've ever had with my girls on Rachel's birthday.)
Man! I Feel Like A Woman! - Shania Twain (Which was hilarious because the band was men dressed and makeup'd so outlandishly, any other time I'd classify it as drag.)
Bleed It Out - Linkin Park (This is where it turned a little mosh-pit-y.)
Killing In The Name Of - Guitar Hero (I don't remember or particularly care who actually sings this, but there was headbanging like NO OTHER going on during this song.)
All Summer Long - Kid Rock (where they changed the lyrics to say something about LSU and "singing fuck you Alabama [state] all summer long!)
Rock And Roll All Nite - KISS (And, oh, yes, did I mention that the lead guitarist had KISS makeup and a tongue like Gene Simmons)
Enter Sandman (Exit Light) - Metallica (Insert more headbanging here.)
You Never Even Call Me By My Name - David Allan Coe (A nice slow one to give me us a sec chance to catch my our breath.*)
IT. WAS. EPIC. AND. GREAT.
There was headbanging, confetti, toilet paper being thrown everywhere, crazy costumes, beer bottle tricks, dancing, screaming, moshing, singing-- and from my new perch on the pool table I was totally rocking out and looking right at the lead singer and guitarist and (God, this sounds cliche) they were totally feeding off my energy and rocking out harder. For realz. It was crazy and cool and I felt so awesome in those moments cause I know they were looking at me, I was *this* close to them! I FEEL SO COOL RIGHT NOW. And the main reason was because I was rocking out super had becuase I knew the songs thanks to my mad Guitar Hero skills. (The songs were actually dedicated to the guys they'd been staying with and how they played Rock Band together, so.)
I wander into my friend's room to gather my things around 2:30, get back home aroundn 3:30 and feel super cool because I can do what I want now. And be a badass while doing it. (Kiah almost threw a leather jacket on me, but I reminded her that that would cause me to melt, so she reconsidered.)
:D
Bed nao, because tailgating is happening starting at 10:00 AM.
TIGER BAIT!
*BREAKING NEWS: Kiah has now seen Dr. Horrible. :D I have converted another.
