Long, but good, day!

Woke up at 8am again to open the pool today. I'm going to severely miss the morning shift. I can deal with camp kids enough because then I don't have to deal with families and for the five hours prior to their arrival, all is really, really calm and quiet and completely manageable. Also, it seems like all the drama/activites occur in the after just after I get off. Next couple of weeks when I'm closing are not going to be fun.

Also bought Dad his father's day gifts from Academy and set up a hair appointment for tomorrow with Shirley. After that, set up babysitting on Saturday for some extra mula.

But the best part of my day: I BOUGHT A GUITAR! Pics coming soon. I need a name for it. I totally got it as a steal, though. Barely over a hundred dollars and the guy threw in the case for free! I mean, it's nothing special and it's a bit crap, but it's also a fair bit good. A classical beginning guitar that'll stay in tune and doesn't look half bad, either. I can't wait to cover my case in stickers. :D

Mom was totally giving me that, "You're wasting your money," look when I walked in the door, but by the end of the night I was strumming a little bit of niceness and she seemed more impressed than I think she meant to let on. Guitar is something I've always wanted to learn, and now I've got the opportunity. Not going to waste it (or my hard earned money).

Went to Buca di Beppo with Jules afterwards and used a coupon to get a pizza and some spaghetti and then we retreated to my home to eat ice cream. Ice cream was postponed for a little bit of lesson from Jules. My fingertips hurt (left hand) but I can't stop picking at the guitar! I love it! I want to start learning a song like, NOW, but I've got to practice chords, get the sound to a good quality -no buzzing, meaning I'm pressing down hard enough- and kind of a mindless knowing where the chords are on the frets/neck. OMFG MY FINGERTIPS HURT SO BAD THOUGH. It's going to take a while for callouses to build up/kick in, but I will keep playing in the meantime. Currently know: chord of E minor and G major. Also E major, but it's less important.

Tomorrow is definitely going to include working, getting a bag/card for Father's Day and a hair appointment. Possibly going to also include partying (WOOOOO) and more guitar practice. Saturday is definitely going to include babysitting, a garage sale and a cookout, not necessarily in that order. Possibly going to also include in-service for work or sleeping in from hopeful drunken shenanigans.

Gotta get more sleep if tomorrow goes as planned! My summer is starting to become busy with external activities outside of work and it makes me very happy.

good day, daily grind, soreness, game plan, friends, becoming a real guitar hero
