Reaffirming my desire to NEVER become a secretary

May 12, 2009 22:10

Today was boring. Want to know why? Because I spent the majority of it either asleep or inputting addresses into my aunt's computer. The tedium of secretarial work will never cease to amaze me/induce a strong urge to run screaming from the responsibility. So, yeah, I've spent roughly 4-6 hours doing this? Reminding myself why I will never take a filing job at LSU, even if I need the extra cash. Spending the night over here since I've got some work yet left to do - the things that I acutally signed up for, rather than this bullshit. But this is my favorite aunt, so I'm not complaining out loud.

Dermatological news: the very top of my forehead is peeling, right next to my hairline. I didn't think I was going to get away with all that sun without peeling somewhere, so I suppose that's as regular as any. It's just gross. Gah. Sunburn is something I don't deal with often. (I'm gifted with melanin.)

The Biggest Loser finale was on tonight; Helen won it all! INSANE! No matter how much of a bitch Tara seems, I like her. Maybe that's the competitive bitch coming out in me that senses a kindred spirit, but whatever. She worked hard, but Helen, man. Dark horse! AND JERRY! OLDEST CONTESTANT EVER winning the at-home portion for 100k!! Frankly, I am fucking flabbergasted.

I'm going to work at the J tomorrow and the next day, unexpectedly, because Ken called this morning. -sigh- This is the slow beginning to how I begin working 40 hour weeks. Speaking of working, gotta go apply at Barnes & Noble. Anyway, bringing up work means bringing up my saturday road trip to Austin with Julie to see RENT!!! :D

CAN YOU TELL I'M EXCITED?
Yeah. I'm excited. I had to cancel working a party that pays an extra dollar an hour but I don't care! That's in four days! Eeeee! :D

No cable here at my aunt's means no Voyager tonight, which is unfortunate, since I've never seen Nothing Human. *pout* Ah, well. I've a feeling I'm finally going to cave when it comes to buying Voyager DVDs (as I don't want them to disappear completely while I buy other stuff that's more recent) this summer with my paychecks.

television, capslock, rent, working hard or hardly working
